Jimmy Butler III sent a strong message to the Golden State Warriors after Game 3 loss.
In basketball, a shoe deal is a pretty good indication that a player has “made it.” On the Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler are the only two players signed to signature deals, with Curry rocking Under Armour and Butler inked to Li-Ning.
Both players wear their shoes off the court and have gone on international tours to promote their sneakers, although Butler recently released a bit of an unorthodox shoe, at least for a basketball player.
Most players only endorse shoes they would wear on the court, or at least look like they would wear them on the court. Butler has taken a different approach.

Jimmy Butler Releases ALO Recovery Mode X
Butler’s on-court shoes are made by the Chinese brand Li-Ning, which also works with Dwyane Wade, CJ McCollum, and other NBA talents. His newest release, a partnership with ALO, is not meant to be worn on the court.
ALO promotes itself as an athletic recovery brand, specializing in yoga and other non-contact exercises. The shoes, dubbed the “Recovery Mode X,” are designed for more casual, everyday wear, including to the gym or just lounging around the house.
“This is my go-to for after a game, when I’m making coffee, playing dominoes, relaxing, just being around my people and my family – all the stuff that I do off court that makes it so that I can go out there and perform on court,” Butler told Hypebeast. “So being able to put my own spin on this shoe, I had fun doing it.”
ALO has listed October 1 as the release date, with no price yet available, although based on the cost of their other shoes, $195 is the estimate.

Sales Estimates for Jimmy Butler’s ALOs
Let’s face it, most sneaker heads are on the younger side and are easily impressionable, or shoes are seen as high-level collector’s items.
Butler’s ALOs, which will never be linked to a signature on-court moment, will never gain any historical significance. The shoes are releasing in time for the holiday season, but even the most die-hard Butler fan won’t be asking for leisure shoes under the tree, young kids want shoes they can hoop in.
Between his coffee business and his playing career, Butler works hard, so it makes sense that he would team up with a “recovery” company to make a shoe, although sales are not expected to be anywhere close to the sneakers often associated with top players.
