It was the year of the plunge at the Brownlow Medal count red carpet on Monday night, with daring necklines well and truly stealing the spotlight.
From glittering gowns that dipped to the waist to slinky numbers cut to the navel, AFL’s leading ladies certainly weren’t shy to flash some décolletage.
Leading the charge was influencer Elle Ray, who stood out in a crimson frock that featured a very low-cut neckline with draped detailing.
The backless gown included a short train and some gathering at the derrière.
Never one to shy away from a daring look, the statuesque Timnah Poratt (partner of North Melbourne’s Luke Davies-Uniacke), took the plunge in a metallic gold gown that barely covered her cleavage with a single stretch of fabric.
The draped mesh gown showcased plenty of flesh thanks to its perilously low neckline, open back and exposed midriff.

Ellie Dickinson (partner of the Gold Coast Suns’ Sam Flanders) also took the plunge in a corset-style gown that dipped dangerously low.
The daring gown featured chainmail-inspired detailing at the bodice and a ruched tan skirt.
Similarly, Jess Butler (Cats’ Max Holmes’ partner) put on a busty display in a powder-blue velvet number with a neckline that descended to her navel.
Elsewhere on the carpet, Charli Wheeler (the Suns’ Noah Anderson’s partner) doubled down on drama in a feather-trimmed creation with a dangerously deep plunge.
Likewise, Adelaide Crows WAG Rosie Konstantinou (partner of Ben Keays) dazzled in a sequined gown with a plunging halter neckline.
Paige Bramley, partner of Josh Worrell, also turned heads in a daring, form-fitting halter-neck black dress that left little to the imagination.
Also following the plunging neckline trend was Aussie swimming sensation Ariarne Titmus, who wowed in a low-cut wine gown.
Summer Finn (partner of Brisbane Lions’ Will Ashcroft) similarly flashed the flesh in a sheer halter-neck dress.

Elsewhere, Christian Petracca of Melbourne Demons and his wife Isabella Petracca posed side by side, with Isabella sparkling in a semi-sheer maxi dress with a revealing neckline.
And Madelaine Leek (wife of Suns player Touk Miller) showcased her assets in a very low-cut black gown.
Despite the ladies attempting to put their best fashionable foot forward, fans expressed their boredom at this year’s red carpet fashion, branding the display as ‘dull’ and ‘lacklustre’.
‘Very disappointing’, one punter commented on social media, as another wrote: ‘I’m not impressed’.
‘Not one dress that had the wow factor,’ another agreed, as someone added: ‘Red carpet for the Brownlow Medal tonight is very underwhelming.’
Others were left clutching their pearls at the prodigious display of flesh on the red carpet, with one user commenting: ‘I just wish the girls would embrace the fact that exposing all that flesh is not glamorous.’
‘Only a couple of classy dresses. The rest are all yucky. All still wanting to break the headlines like Rebecca Judd did years ago,’ another added, referring to Rebecca Judd’s famous plunging red dress at the 2004 Brownlow red carpet.
‘I think the fashion of slitting your top to show your sternum is passed its use by date,’ another wrote.
‘Most of these are tragic. What’s so difficult to be inspired by some old Hollywood glamour?’ yet another commented.
