Claudia Peltz, 70,  is a former fashion model who is best known for being the matriarch of the billionaire Peltz empire

She’s the ice-cool 70-year-old blonde who has maintained a dignified silence throughout the drama surrounding her daughter and son-in-law’s falling out with his family.

Claudia Peltz, the mother of Nicola, has remained quietly supportive while her daughter and son-in-law, Brooklyn Beckham, go head-to-head with his famous family.

While Nicola Peltz’s billionaire father Nelson, 83, officiated at her vow renewal and launched a lawsuit against her first set of wedding planners, glamorous Claudia’s role is far more discreet.

However, the power she wields is not to be underestimated given her incredible closeness to Nicola who has repeatedly said her mother is her role model, recently writing in a gushing Instagram tribute: ‘I want to be just like you’.

For Victoria Beckham, who has been frozen out by her daughter-in-law – a rift that began during wedding planning – this must sting.

With the Peltz-Beckham feud showing no signs of ending, Daily Mail has taken a look at the lady Nicola looks up to.

Claudia is a former fashion model who is best known for being the matriarch of the billionaire Peltz empire.

Hailing from a humble background, she rose to fame in the late 70s and modelled for well-known brands including L’Oreal, Calvin Klein, Chanel, and Revlon.

In 1985, she tied the knot with Nelson and decided to step away from the fashion industry to focus on raising her family.

She now works in the world of philanthropy, having co-founded the Nelson and Claudia Peltz Family Foundation.

Claudia was the billionaire businessman’s third wife, with him having been married twice before.

The pair are the parents of eight children: Matthew, Will, Brad, Brittany, Diesel, Nicola, Zachary and Gregory.

Nicola is the third youngest of her siblings, born on January 9, 1995.

Nelson is also a father to two more children, whom he welcomed with his ex-wife Cynthia Abrams.

Nicola previously opened up about her parents’ marriage during an interview with Cosmopolitan in 2023, saying: ‘My parents have been together for more than 40 years, and they always make fun of each other.

‘They’re so in love, and being able to grow up with that is so beautiful.

‘I would never settle for anything other than that.’

Claudia has always had a tight grip on her children, with Nicola revealing that her parents were originally against the idea of her going into acting.

During an interview with Coveteur in September 2019, Nicola shared how she managed change their mind on her chosen career.

She said: ‘My parents were very against it [at first]. they didn’t get it.’

Recalling a moment when she was 11 years old, she said: ‘We lived an hour away from Manhattan, and I convinced my mom to bring me to a manager.

‘She was like, ‘Listen, if they take you, great. If they don’t, do not bring it up to me until you’re 18 years old.’

Nicola was in luck as she ended up booking on her first audition with a play at the Manhattan Theatre Club called Blackbird.

After scoring a role in Blackbird, the actress told Grazia in another interview that her parents eventually warmed up to the idea of her becoming an actress.

‘I think my parents saw how much I really, really enjoyed it, how much I loved it, and how hard I worked at it, and that’s all they really care about,’ she said. ‘Now, they’re really supportive.’

Nicola has gone on to carve out a successful career as an actress, having starred in several hit TV shows and movies, including Bates Motel and Transformers: Age of Extinction.

She often talks about her close relationship with her parents, particularly her mother, whom she often goes to for style advice.

Speaking with Byrdie in February 2024, Nicola revealed that she doesn’t work with a stylist and instead gets advice from Claudia about her outfits.

‘I’ll give my mom three options and ask her what I should wear, or she’ll sometimes send me what she sees and likes.’

Claudia also weighed in on Nicola’s bridal attire for her April 2022 nuptials to Brooklyn.

The actress told Grazia that her mum and friend Leslie Fremar were part of the design process when she worked with mother-in-law Victoria on a wedding dress before turning to a Valentino gown.

She said: ‘Victoria called my mom and said her atelier couldn’t make it.

‘So, I spoke to my mom and Leslie, and I was like, ‘Well, unfortunately, this can’t happen, so what’s the next step?’

‘I’ve been a fan of Valentino and their couture for so long. I was really lucky to be able to travel to [the atelier] to try on the dress.’

Claudia was said to have been the brains behind Nicola’s wedding to Brooklyn, as well as the one who decided the pair would only have one ceremony.

The mother of eight reportedly made ‘a number of decisions’ after ‘overruling’ Victoria, who was said to have wanted another celebration in the UK.

A source at the time told the Daily Mail: ‘Claudia was in the driving seat over the wedding, and it put Victoria into a rage.

‘Victoria is used to people being intimidated by her, she’s been famous for 25 years and is deferred to a lot, but Mrs Peltz didn’t seem to be impressed in the slightest.’

In an issue of Tatler magazine, Nicola talked about her wedding and how her mum helped plan ‘basically the whole thing’.

The magazine stated: ‘It was in fact Claudia who invited the Williams sisters to attend the wedding, despite them not being close family friends.’

Nicola said: ‘It’s so random. She ran into Venus and Serena at a charity event and told me, ‘I’ve invited them if they want to come.’ It’s so incredible – those women are the most beautiful, successful icons ever.’

Nicola has long been open about her love for her family, telling Byrdie in 2024: ‘Family is everything to me, and I mean that with my whole heart.’

She added: ‘I go to Florida any chance I get, and we stay at my parents’ house. It honestly makes me so happy to wake up and have my siblings around.’

Most recently, Nicola shared a gushing tribute to mum Claudia, declaring ‘there is truly no one like you’ – amid Brooklyn’s estrangement from his own parents.

Alongside black and white snaps of mother and daughter embracing, Nicola penned: ‘I love you mom, so so much.

‘I don’t know what i would do in life without your love. thank you for being you, the most beautiful human inside and out, there is truly no one like you.’

Despite having a daughter in the spotlight, Nelson and Claudia prefer to keep their family life out of the cameras.

During a 2022 interview with Grazia, Nicola said she views her parents as ‘anti-Hollywood.’

‘My family is not in the limelight. I don’t see them like that at all,’ she explained.

Nicola also opened up about how her family keeps her grounded as her career as an actress and model continues to grow.

‘It’s funny to be the first person in your family to venture off and try something new,’ she said.

‘My six brothers are happy for me, but they just look at me as their sister. My family keeps me very, very grounded.’

It comes as Brooklyn has made it clear his loyalties now lie firmly with his wife Nicola after he made explosive comments about his parents, Sir David and Victoria.

In a statement shared on social media on Monday, the aspiring chef, 26, addressed months of speculation surrounding his strained relationship with his family, alleging a pattern of conflict that dates back to before his 2022 wedding.

Over a six-page statement, Brooklyn said he has no wish to reconcile with his family and is standing up for himself ‘for the first time in my life’, claiming his parents have ‘controlled narratives about our family’.

He also stated that ‘my parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship (with wife Nicola) since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped’.

The message appears to have left little room for reconciliation (at least for now), signalling a clean break from the Beckham family dynamic he once belonged to.

Brooklyn Beckham’s statement in full

I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.

I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.

Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.

My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped. My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.

Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.

They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.

During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me “evil” because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola’s Naunni at our table, because they both didn’t have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours.

The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was “not blood” and “not family.” Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders.

Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last Summer.

My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.

She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.

My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one. My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.

Despite this, we still travelled to London for my dad’s birthday and were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him. He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner.

When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. It was a slap in the face. Later, when my family travelled to LA, they refused to see me at all.

My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first. Family “love” is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations.

We’ve gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show ‘our perfect family.’ But the one time my wife asked for my mum’s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.

The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.

I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief. My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.
