Shoppers ‘obsessed’ with $159 budget Dyson rip-off: ‘I couldn’t believe how much dust it picked up’
- Shoppers are obsessed over budget vacuum
- The Black and Decker model is $159
A young woman who couldn’t afford a Dyson vacuum cleaner has revealed she is ‘obsessed’ with a budget version she picked up at Big W.
And she isn’t the only one, with the $159 Black and Decker vacuum developing a loyal fan base.
Even Dyson owners admitted they have the cheap vacuum as a back up and ‘actually prefer it’ to the expensive machine which can cost up to five times as much.
The young South Australian woman, publicly raved about the cheap vacuum after buying it for her stairs.
She explained she uses a robo vac for the rest of the house but needed ‘something easy’ for the fiddly staircase.
A young woman who couldn’t afford a Dyson vacuum cleaner has revealed she is ‘obsessed’ with a ‘budget version’ she picked up at Big W – this photo was taken after cleaning her rug
‘We couldn’t afford a Dyson so got this and OMG with it does wonders,’ she said.
The young woman, who lives with her partner, has an inside dog, making a good vacuum a necessity.
She decided to give the whole house a clean with the new cleaner and was shocked when she filled the barrel three times.
‘Really didn’t expect this much dust!! But amazing results,’ she said.
She also shared a photo of the vacuum after going over the clean rug in her living room, revealing how much dust was really lurking in the pile.
Another woman, who has had her vacuum for five years, was quick to praise it.
‘I’ve had my black and decker for five years now and it’s the best $200 I have ever spent! My mum prefers it over her Dyson,’ she said.
A second continued to rave: ‘I have this one too, it’s soooo much better than the Dyson I had, we have a dog inside and it gets all the hair unlike the Dyson.’
One explained it is her go to – but isn’t perfect.
‘I agree I’ve had my purple Black and Decker stick vac for about a year and I use it more than the Dyson. I just wish the battery lasted longer but I’ve heard you can buy bigger batteries for them.
The young woman who started the conversation said her battery lasted an hour – on high.
The budget vacuum is sold at Big W and has a lot of fans
Some people recommended the ‘purple one’ over the ‘orange one’ by the same company.
‘It costs $20 more and doesn’t get tangled as easy and has an attachment for furniture,’ said one fan.
But some said they were disappointed with the cheap machine.
‘We had one of these for a quick clean for our stairs and rug. After about the 10 time it started to not pick up as good we cleaned the filter after each use,’ one mum said.
The woman said she may need to ‘upgrade her robo vac’ as she didn’t realise it was leaving behind so much dust.
