A woman on TikTok has sparked fierce outrage after she claimed that her carry-on bag was left covered in urine when she retrieved it at the end of her flight.

Amber Berndt posted a video about her alleged experience on Sun Country Airlines this week and it reached over half a million views on the social media platform.

Berndt shared a short clip of what she claimed her gray carry-on backpack looked like after the flight, which appeared to be covered in a mysterious-looking liquid.

‘Just got off my flight and realized my bag was sitting in pee the whole time,’ Berndt wrote in white text over the video. ‘Urine. Literal urine.’

In the comment section, she also clarified that the bag had been stowed away under her seat and not in the overhead bin.

‘Y’all this happened on the plane,’ she alleged.

She also specified: ‘I put it under the seat in front of me on the plane, not the bathroom floor, it was not on the bathroom floor until this video when the damage was already done.’

Berndt did not shed any more light about how the alleged pee got onto her bag.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Sun Country Airlines for comment.

Strangely enough, it doesn’t look like this is the first time that such an unfortunate scenario has reportedly happened to someone while flying.

Multiple people wrote in the comments section that they, too, ended up with urine-soaked carry-on bags while flying or knew someone who did.

‘This happened to my friend, an elderly man in front of her had soaked the entire seat and her bag and its contents underneath. The airline was zero help,’ one person claimed.

Another shared: ‘This happened to me before! I didn’t know this was a thing… I have never told anyone this story because I was so grossed out by it.’

‘This happened to me! I heard the little girl in front of me asking to go to the bathroom and her parents ignored her the entire flight. Go to get my bag from under her seat and guess what,’ someone else typed.

A different user chimed in: ‘This happened to me. The lady in front of me did it and I had a meltdown in the bathroom of the airport.’

Others, however, were outraged by Berndt’s claim, writing that a new fear had been ‘unlocked’ for them.

‘This and the comments definitely unlocked a new fear for me because I typically bring open top totes as my personal item,’ one person wrote.

A second shared: ‘Getting on a flight in two days AND NOW I’M TERRIFIED.’

‘I genuinely hate flying anymore and this sealed the deal because why is this so common,’ another lamented.

Berndt’s experience comes just a few months after Virgin Atlantic passengers accused the airline of dirtying their bags with a smelly, mysterious substance when they came out at the carousel at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Some believed that the bags were covered in poop, but amid the uproar, Virgin Atlantic told the Daily Mail that the substance on the bags was not human excrement and did not come from the aircraft.

In an email, the airline said the substance was grease from a broken pipe in the terminal.

‘We’re aware of a New York JFK system failure that affected the baggage of a small number of arriving customers on July 14,’ a spokesperson said. ‘

We’re working closely with the team at JFK and local authorities to ensure the issue is resolved. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to affected customers.’
