A new report has found that working from home is the most effective way to boost Britain’s birth rate.
The average number of children per woman in the UK is 1.41, which is the lowest since records began and far below the replacement rate of 2.1 needed for a stable population. If this is not addressed, then it will mean fewer workers paying taxes to fund things like pensions and benefits.
Those who did the research said that working from home was more cost effective than measures like giving parents tax credits, and that you do not need to be working from home 100% of the time for it to make a difference.
