Brock Lesnar is one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time.

Veteran WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar’s days in professional wrestling are numbered.

In an interview with Barstool Sports’ “Spittin Chiclets” podcast, Lesnar, 48, revealed that he returned to WWE last year on a short-term contract, suggesting he could retire soon after his WrestleMania 42 match against Oba Femi.

“I’m the old guy now,” Lesnar said of returning to the WWE locker room after a few years away from the company.

“I went back to work [for WWE] so I could feed my kids,” he added. “You guys should see my grocery bill. I had left the company years ago, and I’m grateful that I’m back for a short time here. I’m really grateful for all the opportunities that I’ve had in my life.”

Could Brock Lesnar Retire Soon?

Some WWE fans and analysts have speculated about the idea of “Career Killer” GUNTHER retiring Brock Lesnar at the 2026 SummerSlam, which will be held in his hometown of Minneapolis. Although Lesnar was born in South Dakota and currently resides in Saskatchewan, Canada, he continues to be billed from Minneapolis because of his extensive sporting background in Minnesota. After a triumphant collegiate wrestling career at the University of Minnesota, Lesnar also briefly played for the Minnesota Vikings in 2004 after his first departure from professional wrestling.

With GUNTHER having already retired legends like Bill Goldberg, John Cena and AJ Styles, there’s widespread speculation that Lesnar could be sent packing by the Austrian at this year’s two-night SummerSlam event at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

GUNTHER himself discussed the possibility after retiring Styles.

“That’s a good one, right?” GUNTHER said of ending Lesnar’s career, via Fightful.

“We’ll see. I think there are a bunch of examples of people who overstay their welcome, who just hang on a little bit too much, who chase one moment too much. It seems like there is a big amount of people to choose from.”

Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi

Meanwhile, Lesnar will face the emerging star Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42, with many fans and experts calling it the most compelling match on the two-night event.

Several former WWE stars such as Matt Hardy and Rikishi have predicted that Lesnar will do the honors for Femi, helping propel the youngster to new heights.

“I think too this is going to be like a career-defining moment for Oba,” Hardy said, via WrestlingInc. “I mean, you know, they do this and he beats Brock and you know, it’s a career-defining moment. No doubt about it.

“I’m very confident they will do the right thing,” added Hardy.

Rikishi has urged WWE to give Femi a career-defining win over Lesnar.

“Let him get his run,” Rikishi said, via WrestlingInc. “…And so I say my prediction is Oba up, Brock Lesnar down.”
