Zack Snyder’s true vision for Rebel Moon is officially coming to Netflix! The official red band trailer for the film’s Director’s Cut has been released.

Many fans were disappointed by Rebel Moon when it first hit Netflix. While it delivered on some aspects that Snyder’s fans enjoy, it felt relatively tame compared to the potential of the concept.
Snyder had earlier teased the R-rated cuts, stating It’s a more immersive experience. It’s very adult, it’s very R-rated.
Now, three months out from the last installment in the Rebel Moon universe, Netflix has finally put out its first trailer for Zack Snyder’s director’s cut of the two projects. This is complete with a release date for both films, now retitled Chapter One: Chalice of Blood and Chapter Two: Curse of Forgiveness, being revealed as August 2nd.

The Future of Rebel Moon on Netflix
As stated, Rebel Moon didn’t hit exactly the way fans expected it to when it was finally released on Netflix. The original film received negative reviews, with a critic’s score of 21% on Rotten Tomatoes. Yet despite its rocky start, Netflix is doubling down on the franchise due to Snyder’s ambitious plans for expanding the series.

Zack Snyder emphasized that the Director’s Cut would significantly differ from the original movie, saying It’s not an ‘extended cut’… It’s almost like a different movie. It’s almost a different universe that [the R-rated cut] lives in than this movie.
Director’s Cut: A Darker Universe
The new version will feature expanded and enhanced scenes brimming with brutal bloody violence, sexual content, graphic nudity, and intense language. As Snyder previously said, creating such an extended, more adult version is fun and subversive because an R-rated sci-fi movie at this scale shouldn’t exist.

What to Expect from Rebel Moon
The Directors Cut will present new titles as well – chapters rather than parts, with slightly menacing names indicating a darker tone: Chapter One: Chalice Of Blood, and Chapter Two: Curse Of Forgiveness. Moreover, it will delve further into the mythology and madness of Snyder’s epic sci-fi saga.

Snyder sums up the Director’s Cut as a peaceful settlement on a moon finds itself threatened by armies. Kora, a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival.
Commitment Despite Criticisms
Despite early reactions to the trailer raising concerns about story quality, with one critic noting The writing in these projects is pretty bad and I don’t expect the writing to get any better with the upcoming director’s cuts
, Netflix remains committed to continuing and expanding on the Rebel Moon series.
