A 15-year-old girl in Washington state faces second-degree murder charges after she allegedly used a borrowed car to ‘intentionally’ ram into a man out jogging because she wanted ‘to scare him.

The suspect took her godmother’s 2004 Toyota Camry without permission and was driving near the jogger on a mid-July morning in the town of Maple Valley.

She is then alleged to have plowed into Greg Moore, 53, while driving 50 mph – 15 miles over the posted local speed limit.

According to a passenger in the car at the time, the girl had predetermined what she was going to do.

‘I’m going to scare him, I’m going to bump him,’ she supposedly said as she approached Moore, who was out for his run at about 6 a.m. on July 18, The Kent Reporter said.

One of her friends, who was following her in another car, said she heard a loud bang before seeing something fly in the air, she told investigators.

She even allegedly laughed about it afterwards.

Moore was found hours later in a ditch in front of a local church.

The suspect’s godmother went to authorities, realizing the car that hit Moore was hers after seeing surveillance footage.

She had originally lied to her godmother, saying she hadn’t taken it and that it was damaged with a bat.

The 15-year-old turned herself into police last week, accompanied by her father.

Greg’s wife, Michelle, told reporters that a family member of the suspect heard her laugh about the way her husband’s body flew in the air when she hit him.

Moore added that detectives told her the girl allegedly pulled over to see the body of the man she’d hit and then sped away.

‘It’s a ‘thrill kill’ is what it’s called,’ said Moore to KIRO

She had offered a $35,000 reward and set up a website to find her husband’s killer, WhoKilledGreg.com

Prosecutors in King County are citing the defendant’s age and a lack of a criminal record led to her case not being moved to adult court.

‘Even when juveniles are convicted as adults, Superior Court judges at sentencing can – and do in many cases – still follow the juvenile sentencing guidelines set by state lawmakers,’ office spokesman Casey McNerthney said.

‘I would argue that the brutality of her crime and blatant disregard for human life warrants her being tried as an adult,’ Moore said.

McNerthney said the prosecutor’s office has no choice.

‘There’s understandable frustration and this feeling that we don’t care about this case when we do,’ McNerthney added.

She said that they plan to get a conviction and if they do, the suspect could remain in corrective detention until she’s 21.

Moore wants people to contact the King County prosecutor to ask him to change the decision and try the girl in adult court.

‘It’s even worse knowing someone could take him from me like that,’ she said. ‘She stole that from me. I know I can never get Greg back. But if justice is not served, I’m afraid I will never know peace.’

A Gofundme has been started to help the family. It has already raised over $41,000 of their $100,000 goal.
