One of Catwoman/Selina Kyle’s sidekicks meets an unfortunate end at the hands of a Dark Knight villain in DC’s Batman: Urban Legends #22.
Batman: Urban Legends #22 sees Killer Croc seemingly kill Catwoman’s new self-appointed sidekick, L’il Kitten.
Batman: Urban Legends #22 features a story, “Arkham Academy Part Two: Scared Straight,” by writer Dennis Culver, artist Hayden Sherman, colorist Jordie Bellaire and letterer Pat Brosseau. In “Arkham Academy Part One,” which was featured in Batman: Urban Legends #21, a number of Gotham villains’ sidekicks found themselves enrolled in a “juvenile supercrime deterrent program” run from within Arkham Asylum. One of these sidekicks introduces themselves as Li’l Kitten, an up-and-coming super-villain inspired by Selina Kyle who sometimes also goes by Cat Boi and the Feline Phantom.
In Batman: Urban Legends #22, the class of sidekicks are only somewhat horrified to have Killer Croc as their professor. While the villain tries to steer the youngsters away from living a life of crime, Li’l Kitten wastes no time mocking Waylon Jones’ skin and inability to ever beat Batman. Killer Croc tries to keep his emotions under control, but the ridicule reminds him of being teased as a child, which then causes his anger to get the better of him. He proceeds to break out of the restraints the Arkham Asylum guards were keeping him in before setting his sights on Li’l Kitten. The last page of the story sees him ripping out Li’l Kitten’s throat with one claw while another gouges out the sidekick’s right eye.

The storyline will conclude in Batman: Urban Legends #23, which releases Jan. 10, 2023, and is also the final issue of Batman: Urban Legends. The synopsis reads, “The final issue of the landmark anthology series is here! Jamal Campbell’s epic Nightwing two-parter draws to a close.
