Angel Reese was seen furiously slapping a clipboard out of her coach's hand on Tuesday

Angel Reese has sparked controversy again after she was seen furiously slapping a clipboard out of her coach’s hand in the Chicago Sky’s defeat to the Washington Mystics on Tuesday.

Just 48 hours after exploding at referees in a foul-mouthed rant during their loss to the Minnesota Lynx, Reese reacted angrily to Ann Crosby – who is listed as Chicago’s vice president of basketball operations, strength and conditioning – trying to hand her a clipboard as she headed to the bench while her team challenged a foul call.

The television broadcast captured her violent outburst, which occurred with 29.9 seconds left in the game at George Mason University while the Sky were tied 77-77 with the Mystics.

And WNBA fans are torn over Reese taking out her frustrations on the Chicago assistant.

Some were quick to criticize her on X, including one user who commented: ‘Can’t be doing that reese’.

‘Never seen anything like this! As a coach the board is the mvp. Can’t let a player disrespect the X’s and O’s,’ said another.

While a third simply put: ‘Embarrassing’.

However, others leapt to Reese’s defense and questioned why the assistant tried to hand her a clipboard in the first place.

One asked: ‘Cus why are you handing her a clipboard she’s not the coach?’

‘Why was she giving AR the clipboard tho,’ wrote another.

‘Can you blame her,’ posted a third user.

While a fourth concluded: ‘she box office I can’t lie’.

Reese later took to X to admit her regret over the situation and explain how Crosby refused to accept her apology.

‘Those **** were pissing me off,’ she said with a crying emoji, ‘shoutout to Ann because she know it was the heat of the moment and she didn’t let me apologize because she knew! Not happening again tho’.

Despite Reese putting up 22 points on the night, the Sky were eventually beaten 81-79 by the Mystics – marking their seventh defeat in 10 games.

The 23-year-old’s clipboard slam comes two days after she hit out at WNBA officials in a fiery postgame press conference after a defeat to the Lynx.

Reese was getting battered in the paint and took out some of her frustration on officials – who only gave Chicago eight free throws in the game. Seven of those eight free throws came in the fourth quarter.

After the contest ended, she addressed her anger with the lack of calls from officials: ‘It’s tough when you talk to officials and I asked them ‘hey we only shot two free-throws, we’ve only been to the free-throw line twice up until the fourth quarter’ and she tells me it’s not her job.

‘So I know it’s frustrating because I know how hard we are battling inside [the paint].

‘I think we came down and fought as hard as we could with what we had. I just know that we’ll continue to grow on this and I think this is a leaping step up for us.

‘Obviously we know we can compete with the best, but that has to be fixed. I don’t give a damn if I get fined because that s***’s cheap and I am tired of this s***.

‘I’ve been nice and I’ve been humble with it but I am tired of this s***.’
