Incidents involving assaults against federal immigration officers don’t happen often in red states, primarily because of a couple of things: there is typically cooperation between law enforcement and the feds in red states on these matters, and the tough-on-crime Republican leaders in those states aren’t out there using incendiary rhetoric against ICE to whip up woke mobs.
In blue states, however, it’s a different story entirely, as we’ve seen play out in Minnesota amid the increased presence of ICE agents after the incident involving anti-ICE agitator Renee Good.
Gov. Tim Walz (D) and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D), for instance, have doubled and tripled down on the inflammatory rhetoric, with Frey referring to ICE as “invaders” and essentially accusing them of murder, and Walz characterizing them as “occupiers” and their actions as “atrocities” committed against the people of Minnesota.

Florida is, of course, one of those Republican-led states that has been more than happy to lead at the state level on the issue of working with the feds to get criminal illegal immigrants off the streets, as we’ve seen, for instance, with the creation of Alligator Alcatraz, a temporary detention center located in the Florida Everglades where illegal immigrants are processed before deportation to their home countries.
The Sunshine State is also led by a law-and-order governor, Ron DeSantis, who has long made it clear to radical leftist “protestors” that if they try to cause trouble, they should be ready to face the consequences of their actions.
As it turns out, that process is underway after an incident on Tuesday involving a Jacksonville woman who Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said took out her frustrations with ICE on state troopers during an immigration enforcement operation – and was taken into custody:
This is Jennifer Cruz of Jacksonville. Jennifer disagrees with immigration enforcement and decided to commit a few felonies by getting out of her car and punching a Trooper in the face.
But unlike Minnesota, we don’t put up with this nonsense. Not today, Jennifer. pic.twitter.com/vw28UPJ9Kn

DeSantis has responded accordingly:
Gov. Ron DeSantis also addressed the incident during a press conference, saying, “I do know there was a woman who came out and assaulted one of our troopers. Let me just tell you guys, this is not Minneapolis. That is not going to end well for you in Florida […] the idea that you’re going to assault one of our troopers is unacceptable, and you are going to face consequences as a result.”

Really bad decision to attack one of our troopers.

According to local reports, Cruz faces “multiple charges, according to jail records, including resisting an officer with violence, battery on law enforcement, driving with a suspended driver’s license, and more.”
Editor’s Note: Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left’s lies, new legislation wasn’t needed to secure our border, just a new president.
