Appeal court affirms Fintiri as Adamawa Governor, fines Binani N1m

Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been affirmed as the elected governor of Adamawa State bu a court of appeal.

The appellate court which upheld the decision of the tribunal, which on October 28 dismissed Aishatu Binani’s petition and upheld the declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission that Fintiri won the election, ruled that the APC candidate’s appeal lacks merit.

The court also awarded N500,000 each in favour of Fintiri and the PDP.
