Brent Hospelhorn, 46, an Arizona construction company owner, faces an assault charge after a TikTok video shows him slapping a female worker across the face for scratching a cabinet

The owner of a construction company in Arizona faces an assault charge after video posted on TikTok captured him slapping a female worker across the face while yelling profanities at her for scratching a  cabinet.

Brent Hospelhorn, 46, was identified by Phoenix police as the supervisor who was filmed belligerently yelling at the soft-spoken woman and other workers on the job site in North Phoenix on Tuesday.

His victim has not been named, with the clip uploaded to a female colleague’s TikTok account, from where it has been widely-shared.

Hospelhorn was taken into custody, cited and released, which enraged social media users who demanded to know why he wasn’t in jail, as they accused police of a lack of action.

Police on Wednesday released a statement that social media users were spreading an ‘inaccurate narrative’ and that the claims of a ‘lack of action’ on their part were false. While Hospelhorn was not booked in a jail, police said the man is being ‘recommended for charges.’

The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. at a property under construction near Deer Valley Drive and 56th Street in north Phoenix, police said.

Hospelhorn, who owns a construction company in Scottsdale called BPH Construction LLP according to online records, was recorded screaming profanities at the workers on the job site.

‘Leave! Get the f*** out of my building right now,’ he screams as he jabs his finger at the person recording the video.

A woman over to the side quietly says ‘no’ and and enraged Hospelhorn reaches out and slaps her, yelling ‘you f****** bitch.’

It is difficult to see how the woman reacts in the aftermath, as the camera focuses on Hospelhorn as he walks away.

‘All over my f****** cabinets,’ he yells. ‘How many times do I have to tell you f****** people to take the g****** belt off.’

When another worker appears to defend the woman, Hospelhorn yells back: ‘Bull****, it’s f****** her, it’s her. A hundred percent, because she was leaning up against when  walked in here.’

‘Get that b**** off my jobsite,’ he yelled. ‘I’m the motherf****** super. What I say f****** goes,’ he continued yelling.

He tells the person behind the camera that she could keep recording all she wants,  adding: ‘You’re a goddamn worthless piece of s***.’

Officers were called to the job site where Hospelhorn was detained for misdemeanor assault, cited and then released after being ‘recommended for charges,’ the statement read. ‘Detectives will be following up on this incident.’

Sgt. Robb Scherer, a spokesperson for the Phoenix police The Arizona Republic: ‘Citing him is not letting him go, he has a court cite to attend.’

Hospelhorn is scheduled to appear in court on May 26.
