Two young men are fighting for their lives after a suspected stabbing in broad daylight.
Emergency services were called to a barber shop on Crawford Street in Queanbeyan in southern NSW at about 1.10pm on Friday following reports of a brawl.
By the time police arrived, two men believed to be aged in their 20s, had already been rushed to Queanbeyan Hospital with serious injuries.
Both men are reported to be in a critical condition.
Photos from the scene show a large police presence and the footpath outside the barber shop stained with blood, the Canberra Star reported.
Police closed off a lane of traffic to motorists as investigators scoured the scene and placed evidence markers along the footpath.
Nearby businesses, include a newsagent, other hair salons and a Kmart were forced to close their doors.
‘Early indications suggest the injured men were stabbed,’ a police statement read.

Detectives have established a crime scene and launched an investigation.
The incident has shocked the tight-knit community near the ACT border.
‘It had a bad reputation a long time ago, but it’s actually a really lovely place in the 10-20 years I’ve known it,’ one mum told the publication.
‘That’s why we’re moving back… I would’ve never guessed something like this could’ve happened here though.’
Another local added: ‘On the surface it seems to be a very peaceful place. I wouldn’t expect something like this to happen.’
