Boston Marathon Announces New Guidelines For 'Non-Binary' Runners On 2023 Registration Page

The Boston Marathon – in an attempt to be as inclusive as possible – has just released new 2023 guidelines for non-binary athletes.

This announcement was made on Monday, as registration opened for next year’s April event that expects to host 30,000 runners.

“The Boston Athletic Association is currently working on expanding opportunities for non-binary athletes at our events, including the upcoming 2023 Boston Marathon,” the Boston Athletic Association (BAA) shared on its registration page.

“While we do not currently have qualifying standards for nonbinary athletes, we are working on ways nonbinary participants are accepted into the event,” it added.

More from the BAA:

Non-binary athletes who have completed a marathon as a non-binary participant during the current qualifying window (September 1, 2021 through September 16, 2022) may submit an entry application into the 2023 Boston Marathon between September 12-16, 2022.

Entry into the event will be determined by an athlete’s submitted time and based on the Boston Marathon’s overall field size limit. The Boston Marathon registration application will feature the option to select non-binary in regards to gender.

These new guidelines come at a time when the nation is torn over gender identity in sports. With some states even pushing to ban biological males from competing in women’s sports.

At the same time, organizations like the BAA are outright supporting gender identity in competition. Even though their efforts will likely provide men with an advantage for simply identifying as non-binary.

To compete in the Boston Marathon, runners have historically needed to meet certain predetermined marathon times to compete.

Under these new guidelines, non-binary runners must have ran a three hours and 30 minutes or faster marathon from September 2021 until now. Hence the reason why biological males have an advantage.

This move is likely going to open the door to even more controversy touted by leftist activists in the coming future.

The Philadelphia Distance Run was reportedly the first large American race to offer a non-binary division that rewarded winners with prize money, according to a report by Fox News.

The BAA is pushing a very progressive ideology into the mainstream with this new class of runners. Giving hopeful participants an incentive to register their gender identity for a chance to compete in the world renown Boston Marathon.

It’s sure that other American races will soon follow suit.
