Nick Mohammed turned on ‘true Faithful’ Joe Marler in the final moments of The Celebrity Traitors final on Thursday night, changing the game completely.

Viewers watched as Traitor Alan Carr, 49, revealed his true identity and scoop the £87,500 charity prize in a tense nail-biting final.

After Joe chose to banish Cat at the very last minute at the round table, Nick started having suspicions on whether he was a traitor or a faithful.

In a shock U-turn, Nick said he doubted Joe after spotting him say ‘I’m sorry’ when he banished Cat.

Joe was left open-mouthed as Nick said: ‘I adore you, honestly I didn’t believe it but you voting for Cat is what sealed it, but I love you.’

Alan persuaded Nick and David that he was a faithful right up until the last minute.

The hapless comedian revealed his true identity and burst into tears after a tense firepit saw Faithful Joe banished.

Alan said ‘all the lying and treachery’ had torn him apart: ‘I was awful, I had no poker face but here I am. Maybe I do exaggerate a showbiz story now and again. But to just lie to people’s faces, it was tough’.

At the roundtable, Alan and Cat went for David, who had to defend himself as Joe questioned if Traitor Jonathan Ross gave a parting hint by writing David’s name on his board before he was banished.

But Joe, Nick and David clubbed together to vote.

The singer said: ‘I wouldn’t change a thing. I got to the final. I’m proud of myself.’

The team managed to bag £20,000 to the prize pot after an action-packed train challenge, which saw a carriage explode once the time limit was up.

Claudia Winkleman revealed their win meant the total prize stood at £87,500.

However their joy didn’t last long, as they headed to the roundtable for the banishment.

The famous faces have been battling for up-to-£100,000 of prize money for their chosen charities throughout the series, which first aired in October.

In October, the hit series, which drew in more than 11 million viewers for its launch, was hit by a huge leak with insiders reportedly revealing who wins the show to friends.

A source told The Daily Star: ‘Everyone involved with the show agreed to stay quiet, but the show has a Traitor in its midst. They let slip who wins and the information has spread.’

They added: ‘It’s vital that key details about the series don’t get out. Everyone is hoping the leak stops telling people who wins as it could ruin the series for viewers.’
