Country Charges £88,000 For Permission to Own a Vehicle

Is this the future to obtain car ownership?

According to multiple reports, drivers in Singapore must pay £88,000 for the privilege to own a vehicle.

The egregious cost doesn’t include the price of their car.

Sky News reports that the city-state is the most expensive place in the world for drivers.

Owning a vehicle isn’t obtainable for most middle-class Singaporeans.

Daily Mail reports:

Singapore drivers now need to pay £88,000 to be able to own a car, before even factoring in the cost of the vehicle itself.

When combined with a Toyota Camry Hybrid, registration fees and taxes, that totals £151,000, five times more than it would in the UK, and over double the average household salary.

The city-state has become known as the most expensive place in the world to drive, with soaring prices putting cars out of reach for even most middle-class residents.

NET ZERO doesn’t mean everyone drives electric cars, it means owning your own car is a restricted activity only for the elites.

Drivers in Singapore now need to pay £88,000 (A$168, 774) for permission to own a car (vehicle not included)

The cost of buying a Toyota Camry Hybrid in Singapore – when combined with a certificate, registration fees and taxes – now stands at £151,000 (A$289,601)

Sky News added:

Back in 1990, a 10-year certificate of entitlement (COE) was launched to control the number of vehicles on the road, which is capped at about 950,000.

Would-be motorists need to bid for one of these certificates, which now cost four times more than they did in 2020.

The cost of buying a Toyota Camry Hybrid in Singapore – when combined with a COE, registration fees and taxes – now stands at £151,000, five times more than in the UK.

That’s also twice more than the median annual household salary, which stands at £72,716.

Persistent inflation and a slowing economy mean some Singaporeans are selling the cars they bought – when COE prices were low – to make a profit.

Don’t be surprised to see other governments introduce exorbitant prices like these to own vehicles.

Over a dozen U.S. cities committed to full compliance with the climate change radicals.

“14 American cities will fully comply with the globalist climate change-driven agenda, calling for widespread reduction in dairy and meat consumption, private car ownership, and air travel,” WLTReport noted.

“The U.S. cities form part of the ‘C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group,’ which issued its disturbing 2019 ‘The Future of Urban Consumption in a 1.5°C World’ report.”

WARNING: Do You Live In One of These 14 U.S. Cities?

The World Economic Forum promotes the group on its website:

These 14 American cities are part of C40 Cities:

  • Austin, Texas
  • Boston, Massachusetts
  • Chicago, Illinois
  • Houston, Texas
  • Los Angeles, California
  • Phoenix, Arizona
  • Miami, Florida
  • New Orleans, Louisiana
  • New York City, New York
  • Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  • Portland, Oregon
  • Seattle, Washington
  • San Francisco, California
  • Washington D.C.

The report has several insane initiatives to combat fictitious climate change.

According to the report, C40 Cities desires its citizens to achieve the following “ambitious targets” by 2030:

  • 0 private vehicle ownership
  • 1 short-haul return flight (less than 1500 km) every 3 years per person
  • 3 new clothing items per person per year
  • 0 kg meat consumption
  • 0 kg dairy consumption (milk or derivative) per person per year

You’ll find these “ambitious targets” in Section 6 of the report (What can cities do? Consumption interventions by category).
