Crockett Makes an Absolute Fool Out of Herself in Wild Justification for Epstein Donation Claims – RedState

At this point, Democrats are just embarrassing themselves badly over Jeffrey Epstein.

Their efforts backfired spectacularly as the Epstein estate information revealed more Democrat connections to Epstein. It left them scrambling, trying to justify/defend Democrat Delegate Stacey Plaskett’s texting with Jeffrey Epstein during a Congressional hearing. Plaskett is the non-voting delegate from the Virgin Islands, where Epstein had his infamous island. She received donations from Epstein up to 2018, long after the nature of Epstein was widely known. She claimed she gave the donations she got in 2016 and 2018 to women’s groups.

Then, Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) defended her, claiming Republicans had gotten donations as well from “somebody” named Jeffrey Epstein. She named Lee Zeldin, the EPA administrator, as one person who’d gotten donations. Except the donations to Zeldin were not from the sex offender Epstein, but from people with the same name. Zeldin went scorched earth on her, blistering her for making such a claim.

Oh My: Dem Received Texts from Epstein During 2019 Congressional Hearing – and It Gets Worse

However, when Crockett was asked if she would correct the record on CNN by Kaitlan Collins, her response was truly bizarre.

“I never said it was that Jeffrey Epstein. Just so people know, when you make a donation, your picture is not there,” she said. She said Republicans didn’t even try to go through the FEC [filings of donations]. “Unlike Republicans, I just don’t go out and tell lies.”

What lies? It’s undisputed that Plaskett got donations from Epstein. What is Crockett even talking about?

“Just because it wasn’t the same one, that’s fine,” she said. She claimed Zeldin “admitted he received donations from a Jeffrey Epstein, so at least I wasn’t trying to mislead people.” Is she serious?

Crockett claimed that was why she said “a” Jeffrey Epstein because she only had twenty minutes to look into the question. And she admitted, “I did not know.” So it’s cool to spread nonsense that you haven’t checked out? Not to mention it doesn’t take much time to figure out that if a donation came in after the sex offender Epstein was dead, it probably wasn’t him. This may be the wildest thing I’ve heard from her yet, and that’s saying something.

Then she added just a little more craziness with this comment about Plaskett’s texting, claiming “Jeffrey” initiated the contact and hadn’t been convicted of a “federal crime.”

Wow. Of course, Epstein had been convicted of a state sex offense by February 2019, when Plaskett was doing the texting. Moreover, the alleged Epstein sex trafficking had been widely reported and was well-known.

Then she deflected to a “but Trump” defense, which was just pathetic. No, Jasmine, it’s not the same.

The Epstein files resolution has now passed Congress and has been signed by President Donald Trump, so the Democrats no longer have that issue to wail about.

They’re stuck making truly wild defenses like this.
