Daniel Kaluuya Will Not Reprise His Role In The 'Black Panther' Sequel

It has been four years since the release of the box office hit “Black Panther.” Many fans have been excited about the film’s sequel, while some have been curious to see how things would turn out after the passing of the film’s star Chadwick Boseman. Now more details about the cast for the second film have become available.

According to Deadline, Daniel Kaluuya, who starred in the first film as W’Kabi, the best friend of Chadwick’s character T’Challa, will not be reprising his role for the sequel. It has been confirmed that there was a scheduling conflict as Daniel is also starring in Jordan Peele’s upcoming film, “Nope,” which hindered him from reprising his role in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

Cast members that have been confirmed to reprise their roles in the second film include, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong’o, Letitia Wright, Martin Freeman, Angela Bassett, and Winston Duke.

Filming for the project wrapped up back in March, but the synopsis for the film is still unknown. However, it has been reassured various times that the sequel will pay tribute to Chadwick.

As previously reported, last year when production for the sequel began, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige said,

“It’s clearly very emotional without Chad, but everyone is also very excited to bring the world of Wakanda back to the public and back to the fans. We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud.”

The official release date for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” has not been announced just yet. However, Jordan Peele’s new film “Nope,” which stars Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, and Steven Yeun is scheduled to release on July 22nd.
