David Gilmour signs off on 'demonstrably true' assessment of Roger Waters and it's officially on

Pink Floyd made some pretty great music back in the day. And it holds up pretty darn well for the most part all these years later.

But if you’re a fan of the band who is not a fan of antisemitism, you might find it difficult sometimes to enjoy the music thanks to the antics of outspoken Israel- and Jew-hater Roger Waters. Over the past few decades, Waters has become an increasingly unhinged antisemite (and given how unhinged many antisemites are, that’s really saying something). But Pink Floyd still has at least one saving grace, and that’s Waters’ former bandmate David Gilmour (whose vocals were lovely, it’s worth noting).

Gilmour has watched Waters’ descent into antisemitic and general madness with frustration and utter disgust, and yesterday on Twitter, he made it abundantly clear that his feelings are only growing exponentially every time Waters opens his mouth.

It started with this tweet from author and lyricist Polly Samson, who also happens to be Gilmour’s wife:

Harsh, but fair. And Gilmour wholeheartedly agrees with Samson:

This “lip-synching” thing is pretty intriguing and we’d like to know more about it, but yeah, “demonstrably true” seems pretty accurate especially with regard to the antisemitic Putin apologist stuff.

We’re glad he’s here. His voice is welcome and needed, especially to help drown out Roger Waters’ awfulness.

Demonstrably true.

For what it’s worth, though, Waters has responded to Samson’s “incendiary and wildly inaccurate comments” and it sounds like he’s exploring legal reprisal:

OK, buddy. Go right ahead.

Needless to say:

We wouldn’t hold our breath, no.
