Amon-Ra St. Brown doing the Trump dance.

Some public figures are capable of withstanding the vitriol from America’s left-wing outrage mob, which seeks to silence anyone who dares to step out of line with their unhinged worldview. But for others, not so much.

Unfortunately, Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown fits into the latter category.

On Wednesday, St. Brown publicly apologized if he “offended anyone” with his “Trump dance” touchdown celebration, which came during the Lions’ Sunday matchup against the Washington Commanders. With Trump in attendance, St. Brown — after catching a TD pass in the first quarter — pointed to the stands and proceeded to do the president’s infamous YMCA dance move.

Trump later reposted a video of St. Brown’s dance on Truth Social, which referred to the receiver as “Amon-Ra St. Trump.”

While appearing on Wednesday’s episode of the St. Brown Podcast, Amon-Ra was asked by his brother and fellow NFL player Equanimeous St. Brown to address “the elephant in the room” (i.e. his touchdown celebration). In an act of cowardice, the Lions receiver buckled to the demands of the left-wing rage mob and apologized over the incident.

“First of all, if I offended anyone, I do apologize. I did not mean to offend anyone,” Amon-Ra said. “We were having fun. If any president was at that game, if they had a dance, I would have done it. It had nothing to do with who the president was.”

“We were just having fun doing the dance. It was nothing more, nothing less,” he added.

“A little fun. Nothing serious; nothing political; just doing a little dance,” Equanimeous said, to which Amon-Ra replied, “That’s it, man.”

The cowardly response stands in stark contrast to the “I don’t give a crap” response of ESPN host Pat McAfee, who recently faced leftist backlash after interviewing Trump on his Veterans Day episode of The Pat McAfee Show. (While the interview was conducted via phone, the episode itself was streamed live from Parris Island, South Carolina, to commemorate Veterans Day and the Marine Corps’ 250th birthday.)

On his Wednesday show, McAfee acknowledged that “there are people who are certainly not the most happy” about his interview with Trump, but noted, “In my eyes, he’s the leader of the military, and we were celebrating the hell out of Veterans Day.” The ESPN host also added that, “Every veteran [and] military person that I’ve talked to was very grateful and thankful that we spotlighted the heroes of America who walk amongst us, who are willing to sign a line and go for the United States of America …”

“If you’re against what happened yesterday, I’d like to say, you hate the troops, and you should go ahead and swallow that, and you can take that to where you wanna go,” McAfee said in a seemingly joking fashion.

More seriously, however, he noted that, “Any president willing to come on our Veterans Day celebration spotlight show — commander-in-chief, head of [the] military — we would be very open to it.”

McAfee went on to reveal that he also reached out to Barack Obama’s team about getting the former president on their Veterans Day show but wasn’t able to make it work “because of the quick turnaround.” He further disclosed that it was unclear up until late last week that the show would be permitted to film on Parris Island to commemorate the holiday and those who served.
