The TV personality and musician, 31, is hoping for a victorious night on Tuesday, after landing nominations in the Breakthrough Artist, Male Solo Artist and British Single of the Year categories following his number one hit Head & Heart.
And Joel enthusiastically extended an invitation to his teacher mother Debbie to join him at the London ceremony, after she stood in his corner and supported him.
BRIT: DJ Joel Corry has revealed that he’s invited his mother to attend this year’s BRIT Awards with him, after banning her from watching his antics on Geordie Shore. Pictured in 2019
‘It’s such a big moment for me, and after all the years of my mum being there watching me try to make this dream come true, to get these nominations is definitely a big moment for her,’ he’s quoted by The Mirror as saying.
It marks a stark contrast from his days on long-running reality show Geordie Shore, which regularly shows castmembers boozing, brawling and bedding one another, as he previously warned her: ‘Um, no – you don’t want to watch this…’
After leaving the show, on which he appeared with then-girlfriend Sophie Kasaei in 2013, Joel thrilled his mother when he made an appearance on Strictly Come Dancing last year alongside MNEK to perform Head & Heart.
He said: ‘That’s her favourite show – all her friends and all the other teachers at school were going mad in the staff room about it.’

However, things are less exciting in Joel’s love life, with the hitmaker admitting he’s remained single since splitting from Sophie in 2017.
‘I’m working around the clock at the moment,’ he explained. ‘I know it’s a bit of a cliche, but I’m of kind of married to my work.’
The Brit Awards will take place on Tuesday at London’s O2 Arena, and will feature an audience of 4,000 people as part of the Government’s live events pilot scheme.
Dua Lipa, Griff, Arlo Parks and Headie One are among the artists scheduled to perform during the ceremony, which will be hosted by Jack Whitehall.

Coldplay will open the BRIT Awards with a performance filmed on the Thames – as the ceremony is to become the UK’s first major indoor music event since Covid-19.
The band, fronted by lead singer Chris Martin, 44, were seen secretly recording the show opener in front of the O2 from a barge on Thursday night, ahead of the live event, presented by Jack Whitehall, 32, on May 11.
Chris, alongside band mates Jon Buckland, 43, Guy Berryman, 43, and Will Champion, 42, performed their new single Higher Power, and had a colourful explosion of pyrotechnics over the water.
A source told MailOnline: ‘Coldplay have been planning this performance for months.
Boogie in the ballroom: Joel made an appearance on Strictly Come Dancing last year alongside MNEK to perform Head & Heart. Nadiya Bychkova and Graziano Di Prima are seen dancing
‘They wanted nothing more than to return with new music at The BRIT Awards but due to coronavirus – and the risk of bad weather – some parts of the ceremony have been pre-recorded.’
The BRIT Awards will be the first time Coldplay perform their new single that is taken from their upcoming album Music Of The Spheres.
Dua, Arlo, Celeste, rap duo Young T & Bugsey and DJ and producer Joel Corry are all nominated three times at this year’s awards.
Jessie Ware, dance music duo Bicep and rappers AJ Tracey, J Hus and Headie One all scored two nominations apiece.
Earlier this month, The BRITs announced the winner of this year’s Rising Star supported by BBC Radio 1 award as Griff.
He joins an illustrious list of artist alumni such as Adele, Florence + The Machine, Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding and Celeste who were all identified through this award (previously known as Critics’ Choice) as the future stars of British music.
