Emma Thompson, 63, has revealed she went naked and drew circles around the parts of her body she doesn’t like with her co-stars ahead of shooting nude scenes in their movie, Good Luck to You, Leo Grande.
The actress, 63, made the admission during an appearance on NBC’s Late Night With Seth Meyers on Thursday night in New York City.
She went on to shed a light on body dysmorphia in children, saying: ‘There are eight-year-olds out there saying, “I don’t like my thighs.”‘

Released on Friday, the Hulu original film sees Emma portray retired widow Nancy Stokes who hires sex worker Leo.
The Nanny McPhee star claimed that she, co-star Daryl McCormack, 29, (Leo) and director Sophie Hyde, 45, spent a day together in a closed set rehearsing.
She said: ‘We all, we just took our clothes off and we did it bit by bit and looked at our bodies and said, “Well, I don’t like this bit, because, well, I’ve got a scar here.”

‘Then we drew around them and wrote on them. When you do maps of your body like that, it just becomes the thing that you can accept.
‘You can look at it with a neutral gaze and you’re not just always looking in the mirror and going, “That’s just wrong. What can I do?”
She facetiously added: ‘I know what I’m going to do. I’m going to waste my passion, my energy, my curiosity, my money and my life’s purpose worrying about my body.

Emma admitted that she had a ‘little confidence’ going into the film because she once spent three days naked with Jeff Goldblum, 69, for her 1989 feature-film debut The Tall Guy.
The London native said that when she’s naked on set it makes ‘everybody very, very careful, but it’s also very funny.’

‘Because if like props come up to you with something, they’ll come up to you, and they’ll come up to your face and go, “Here you go, Seth here’s your prop.
‘And then they’ll walk away, but not looking down, no looking down. “Here’s your…” and then they walk away, keeping their eyes up, just in case you think that they’re looking,’ Emma said.
‘It’s actually a leveling thing to do,’ she said of stripping for her character,’ with Seth replying, ‘That’s crazy.’
‘We have to just kick it into the long grass,’ the Oscar winner concluded.
