The family of a man knifed to death in a triple stabbing in Uxbridge have paid tribute to the ‘devoted and hardworking’ person he was.
Wayne Broadhurst, 49, died during the attack which left two other people injured on Midhurst Gardens, in west London, at around 5pm on Monday.
Earlier today Safi Dawood, 22, sat with his head between his legs when he appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court charged with his murder.
Dawood has also been charged over the severe injuries suffered by a 45-year-old man, his landlord Shahzad Farrukh, a business consultant who lives on the road where the attack is believed to have started.
He is said to have life-changing injuries, and is expected to remain in hospital for some time, the court heard.
Dawood is also charged with attempting to murder a 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named and has since been discharged from hospital, and possession of an offensive weapon.
He was not asked to enter pleas when he appeared in court and was remanded in custody by district judge Michael Snow.
His family said in a Statement: ‘Wayne Broadhurst was a devoted and hardworking man who spent his life serving his community as a waste services worker. He worked hard his whole life, never shying away from improving his community.
‘His love for animals showed the gentle heart behind his strong work ethic, and his passion for Liverpool FC was something he loved to share with others.
‘His loss has left a deep void, not only in the hearts of his family and friends, but across the community he quietly cared for.
‘Wayne will be remembered for his kindness, his loyalty, and his genuine willingness to help others. His absence is felt profoundly, and his memory will continue to live on in our community.’

According to residents, a fight had broken out involving the Afghan, who was living as a lodger in the home of the 45-year-old.
The 22-year-old chased two victims out the house, eyewitnesses said, before the dog walker was slashed across the neck.
Footage posted online appears to show two police officers sprinting after the suspect, demanding that he drop the weapon and ‘get on the floor’.
One of the officers raised his Taser and fired the 50,000-volt weapon before the suspect was seized.
