Fox News White House Correspondent Jacqui Heinrich, 36, has gotten engaged to GOP Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, 51

A Fox News White House Correspondent has gotten engaged to a GOP Congressman 15 years her senior.

Journalist Jacqui Heinrich, 36, is gearing up to tie the knot with Republican Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, 51, after a romantic proposal in the South of France.

According to People, the Pennsylvania congressman popped the question in a stunning lavender field in a small town in Provence called Valensole on June 29.

The idea for the proposal came to him after Jacqui expressed how much she wanted to visit the South of France in an interview last year so she could ‘eat the baguettes, see the lavender fields, drink the wine and eat the butter.’

The couple told the publication that they woke up at 1.30am to drive more than two hours from where they were staying in Nice to Valensole before sunrise.

Upon arriving at the lavender fields, Brian told her he was going to take some photos of her.

He then got down on one knee, presenting her with a ring he had gotten from a ‘long-time family jeweler in Portland, Maine.’

It contains ‘a brilliant-cut round diamond solitaire on a six-prong platinum setting with a yellow gold band,’ per the outlet.

He enlisted a photographer who used a drone to capture the heartwarming moment.

Jacqui was super impressed with Brian’s planning, as she gushed, ‘He didn’t ask for any help from me or anyone I know. So I was really surprised he got it spot-on.

‘What I could have asked for, dreamed up myself, he did without even asking. It’s really beautiful. Brian did such an amazing job. I’m so impressed with him.’

She added that being surrounded by flowers during the moment ‘was so breathtaking.’

‘The smell was just so fragrant,’ she continued. ‘It’s a memory that will be seared into my brain for life.

‘It’s hard to even put into words just how gorgeous it really was. It felt like a fairy tale.’

Jacqui admitted that she wasn’t that surprised because before they had jetted off to France, Brian realized the trip would have to be cut short because he was going to have to return to Washington, D.C., to sign Donald Trump’s The One Big Beautiful Bill.

But when Jacqui recommended they postpone it, his reaction left her a little suspicious.

‘He was like, “We are going. We’re going to the lavender fields. All I want is to see the lavender fields at sunrise,”‘ she explained.

‘All the time I’ve known this man, he has never been desperate to see a field of flowers at dawn. So I had a feeling that [a proposal] was the goal.’

While what was supposed to be a 10-day trip was shortened to just 48 hours in France, they said they still got to see ‘everything they wanted to see.’

After the proposal, they headed to St. Tropez, where they dined at the lavish Byblos Beach Club, before they went on to Cannes.

‘It was honestly so memorable. I’ll never forget it,’ the bride-to-be added.

Jacqui, who joined Fox News in 2018, described him as ‘the most principled, thoughtful and brilliant person I know’ to People.

‘I love his brain. I love the way he approaches problem-solving and solving complex issues,’ she said.

‘He’s strong and a man of faith, who brings me closer to God. He’s sweet and gentle and kind – all of the easy qualities in a person that just make him a joy to be around and life brighter.’
