Convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell has claimed that she never saw US President Trump in ‘an inappropriate setting’ with young girls as she seeks a pardon.

Disgraced socialite Maxwell, 63, flattered Trump, who has faced weeks of allegations of a cover up after promised Epstein files were not released, and said she never heard he acted inappropriately ‘absolutely never, in any context’.

Her bombshell comments were revealed in audio tapes and a 380-page transcript, released last night, of a two-day interview convicted child sex trafficker Maxwell had with US Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche last month.

It comes after Trump’s base became increasingly angry after his administration said the expected Epstein files, rumoured to contain a client list, do not exist.

He previously promised Americans he would publish all files on the disgraced billionaire and accused Democrats of refusing to release information to protect their own.

Critics of the President now claim the reason no files have been released is because Trump’s name appears in the documents multiple times, as he had a long-standing friendship with Epstein.

Speaking with the Deputy Attorney General, sex offender Maxwell said: ‘The President was never inappropriate with anybody. In the times I was with him, he was a gentleman in all respects.’

She also said Mr Trump never received massages from underage girls. She is currently serving two decades in prison for her crimes and is understood to be seeking a pardon from the President.

She said: ‘I never witnessed the president in any inappropriate setting in any way. The president was never inappropriate with anybody. In the times that I was with him, he was a gentleman in all respects.’

She added that she never saw anyone behaving inappropriately with a woman ‘of any age’ – but the convicted sex trafficker also admitted her definition of ‘inappropriate’ could differ from others.

Maxwell also said she did not remember specifics about Trump submitting a sketch to a book she put together for Epstein’s 50th birthday: ‘It’s been so long. I want to tell you but I don’t remember’.

Trump is currently suing the Wall Street Journal over claims he wrote a note to Epstein which included a sketch of a naked woman with his signature as the pubic hair.

It comes after protesters gathered outside the White House earlier this month demanding the release of files relating to Epstein.

In February, the Department of Justice released an initial tranche of ‘Epstein files’ to a group of far-right influencers and journalists – but this simply sparked more anger after it emerged most of the information was already in the public demain.

In her July sit-down, Maxwell told investigators she may have first met Trump in 1990 through her late father Robert Maxwell, who ‘liked him very much’ and was fond of his first wife Ivana Trump because of her Czech background.

When pressed about allegations she recruited a Mar-a-Lago employee to meet Epstein, Maxwell claimed she couldn’t remember but admitted it was ‘not impossible’ since she frequently approached spa workers.

During the interview, Maxwell also denied the existence of any client list and disputed that the Clintons were ever involved in any disreputable behaviour through Epstein.

She claimed Clinton only travelled on Epstein’s jet for philanthropic trips and never visited the paedophile’s private island.

‘He never. Absolutely never went,’ Maxwell said. ‘I don’t believe he had an independent friendship with Epstein.’

Maxwell also repeated claims that Epstein, who died while awaiting trial for his crimes in his Manhattan jail cell in 2019, was murdered and didn’t kill himself.

‘I do not believe he died by suicide, no,’ she said. ‘If it is indeed murder, I believe it was an internal situation.’

She said she did not know who killed him but believes it was likely another inmate, flying in the face of claims his death was part of a conspiracy to prevent any blackmail.

‘In prison, where I am, they will kill you or they will pay – somebody can pay a prisoner to kill you for $25 worth of commissary,’ she said.

‘That’s about the going rate for a hit with a lock today.’

During the hours-long interviews, Maxwell was also asked about several high-profile individuals and their potential connections to both her and Epstein.

She claimed that Prince Andrew often stayed at Epstein’s properties, describing him as someone who ‘relished Jeffrey’s hospitality’.

And she said that Epstein was ‘proud to flaunt royal connections’, making Andrew a useful social asset.

She told investigators it was Sarah Ferguson who introduced Andrew to Epstein, and not her, and claimed the sex allegations against him surrounding Virginia Giuffre, one of her victims who killed herself earlier this year, are not true.

Maxwell has previously been found to have lied under oath.

Bizarrely, she also claimed both Epstein and she had ‘medical conditions’ that prevented them from having a lot of sex.

Epstein told her he had a heart condition and she explained she had a medical condition which ‘precludes me having a lot of intercourse’.

Maxwell is currently serving 20 years behind bars for her 2021 conviction on sex trafficking charges related to helping Epstein abuse teenage girls, though she has filed an appeal to the Supreme Court.

Her lawyers claim Maxwell was covered under a 2007 plea deal that Epstein reached in his Florida sex offender case.

Blanche interviewed Maxwell on July 24 and 25 for a combined nine hours at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Tallahassee, Florida.

At the time of the interviews she was serving her sentence at the low-security Federal Correctional Institution, Tallahassee. Just days after her sit-down, Maxwell was transferred to minimum-security Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Texas.

The move has angered many of her victims, as well as prisoners at the Texas jail, who are mainly there for low-level fines such as theft.
