A ‘graffiti granny’ who has saved motorists thousands of dollars by avoiding dangerous potholes has been banned by the local council.

Jenny Hartich, 76, from the NSW Central Coast is known as the ‘pothole lady’ andspends her spare time spraying warning signs or a rainbow of colours on potholes to alert motorists of the danger.

Damage claims for potholes on NSW roads has already risen by more than 600 per cent than in 2021, according to new figures.

While motorists are grateful for the heads-up from Ms Hartich, Central Coast Council thinks otherwise and has ordered her to stop.

She insists she hasn’t been ‘bitumen’ and moaning about the delays for the potholes to be repaired.
