Gregg Wallace has admitted he might have hit the bottle after being fired over his behaviour on MasterChef

Gregg Wallace has admitted he might have hit the bottle after being fired over his behaviour on MasterChef.

The fallen host admitted that he’d endured a “difficult” few months and might have sought solace in booze.

But he said fitness had saved him.

He runs a website called Gregg Wallace Health and is now offering £200-a-month personal training packages.

The telly star shared a social media reel of him outside London’s Canary Wharf at dawn as he prepared to hit the gym with a pal.

He told fans: ‘Look, it has been a difficult few months and I made a decision when all this started to really look after myself physically. So I exercise better than I did before.

‘I’ve got better nutrition than I ever did before, and I don’t know what I’d have done without that. Possibly hit the bottle. I don’t know.

‘But here I am in probably the best physical condition I’ve ever been.’

He launched his new career as PT just weeks ago after he lost five stone three years ago.

The 60-year-old has announced he is personally training clients to improve their “wellness” for the £200 a month fee.

In a video posted to Instagram, he explained: ‘You do not have to accept decline as a part of getting older. You can do something about this. You can be leaner, fitter, healthier, [and] have more energy.’

Gregg continued: ‘I went on my own wellness journey and I am healthier at 60 than I was at 30. I coach people over 50. I help them feel better and look better and have more confidence.

‘If you would like to speak to me about your own health journey, leave me a message here.’

The fallen presenter previously insisted he was ‘done’ with TV following his BBC sacking and made the astonishing claim that HE was ‘groped’ during his time on MasterChef.

Speaking to The Sun, Gregg claimed he himself faced sexual harassment from a host of women ‘on a regular basis’ as he hit out at the broadcaster over their ‘complaints procedure’.

He said: ‘The whole complaints procedure needs to be readdressed – there are huge problems with it as things stand. Being on MasterChef was brilliant but I had so many bad experiences on that show too.

‘Had I wanted to raise any complaints, I’d have had the decency to speak to that person directly. Privately, not publicly. My God, can you imagine the complaints I could have made? Have you got any idea of the sexual references made to me on a daily basis?

‘How many times I’ve been touched by women wanting a selfie? How many times I’ve been groped? How many times suggestive comments have been made to me? How many female contestants have said inappropriate things on MasterChef?’

Gregg added that the thought of complaining wouldn’t even ‘cross my mind’, noting that he wasn’t suggesting that groping was ‘right’, but it was ‘happening to me on a regular basis.’

The disgraced TV star went on to that he was often ‘shouted at and bullied’, claiming contestants had a perceived notion that presenters were ‘god-like’ and adding that he doesn’t wish for anyone to be ‘dragged through’ what he has.

MailOnline have contacted BBC representatives for comment.

Meanwhile, Gregg, who has been reported to have been banned from working at the BBC, told how he washed his hands of both the TV industry and the BBC having been ‘hurt’ by recent events.

He noted he didn’t want ‘anything to do with’ telly or the broadcaster, before acknowledging that his TV career is now over.

When asked if he will watch the upcoming series of MasterChef, he replied with a defiant ‘No, no, no, no’, stating that he’s ‘pleased’ for the contestants on the show as it was never really about former co-star John Torode and himself.

He added that he ‘didn’t care’ who hosted the show next, insisting that MasterChef would be ‘absolutely fine’ without himself and John at the helm.

Australian-born chef John, 59, recently lost his job on the BBC show after two decades over allegations that he used the N-word, which he claims to have ‘absolutely no recollection’ of.

In a video uploaded to Instagram on Monday, his actress wife Lisa Faulkner broke her silence for the first time since he was released by the BBC.

She told followers: ‘Hi there, I just wanted to check in and say hello and I’m here. Just thank you for all your really lovely comments because they really mean a lot, so thank you.’

John was reportedly singing rapper Kanye West hit Gold Digger when he was allegedly ‘caught using the racist term during after work drinks six or seven years ago’.

But, BBC News has since reported this was not the incident which led to the complaint upheld by the report.

This instead related to another incident a year earlier, when he allegedly used the same word on set after filming an episode of MasterChef and it was directed at a member of staff.

The news site added that the upheld allegation of racist language was one of nine complaints made against John in the report, which also related to allegations of abusive language towards junior production staff and sexual language, and which were not upheld.

These allegations were not upheld as they were unsubstantiated due to a lack of evidence or witnesses.

The Sun claims he used the word again whilst chatting to a friend on the MasterChef production team, who didn’t take offence.

The chef has insisted ‘he had absolutely no recollection’ of using a racist term while drinking with colleagues seven years ago.

The person who raised the complaint is understood to have ‘overheard the conversation’.

The production pal allegedly backed John and said he only used the racial slur as an ‘example’ and ‘apologised afterwards’.

MailOnline has contacted BBC and John Torode’s representatives for comment.
