New episodes of Halo are coming to Paramount+ in early 2024.
On Thursday, Paramount+ surprised fans of Halo by putting the entire first season on YouTube. As of now, all nine episodes are available to stream free of charge, allowing those not subscribed to Paramount+ the chance to get caught up on the first season. Per GamesRadar, the YouTube description noted that fans can “stream every episode of Halo on Paramount+ and catch up before the new season streaming February 8.” However, that message has since been removed from the description, so this might be a case of the date getting slipped prematurely, or that date is still subject to change.
Halo Could Have Been Bigger Than Fortnite
The beloved classic video game franchise Halo could have been even bigger than Fortnite with a few minor adjustments.
Inspired by the video games, the Halo series was developed for Paramount+ by Kyle Killen and Steven Kane. It stars Pablo Schreiber in the lead role as Master Chief, while the series also features Shabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Yerin Ha, Bentley Kalu, Kate Kennedy, Danny Sapani, Jen Taylor, Bokeem Woodbine, and Natascha McElhone. Newcomers to the cast for Season 2 include Joseph Morgan and Cristina Rodlo, while recurring stars Fiona O’Shaughnessy and Tylan Bailey have been upped to series regulars for Season 2.
Viewer Complaints Were Taken Into Consideration for Season 2
Season 1 debuted in March 2022, though it had already been renewed for a second season before the first episode even premiered. It pulled in very high viewership, but one issue was that reviews were fairly mixed, giving Season 1 a score of 70% at Rotten Tomatoes. For what it’s worth, executive producer Kiki Wolfkill has suggested that all of the complaints that viewers had with Season 1 have been taken into consideration, teasing that Season 2 should be better received upon its eventual arrival.
The Witcher’s Anya Chalotra and Euphoria’s Chloe Cherry to Star in Two Neighbors
Two Neighbors’ ensemble includes Ralph Ineson and Taz Skyler, and the indie film marks Ondine Viñao’s directorial feature film debut.
“We’re still getting feedback [on Halo Season 1],” she explained, per GamesRadar. “It’s interesting to me to see characters that are resonating or not. I will say, philosophically, [we are] absolutely looking at all of the feedback, good and bad, from each episode. And those are the things that will carry forward as learnings into Season 2, just like all of the learnings we had on Season 1 [that] we get through the course of production, we’ll carry those forward. We will look at everything. We do sort of read everything on Season 1 and we’ll think about how we shape that moving forward.”
Season 1 of Halo is streaming for free on YouTube and it can also be found on Paramount+, while Season 2 looks to be set to arrive on Feb. 8, 2024.
