Well, here we are again, and nobody with two eyes and a brain is surprised.
Democrat Stacie-Marie Laughton, the United States’ first openly transgender lawmaker, has officially pled guilty to federal child sexual exploitation charges. Yes, you read that right. The politician the media once hailed as a “trailblazer” turned out to be exactly what so many warned about: a walking red flag wrapped in rainbow stripes.
Laughton, 41, formerly known as Barry Laughton, reportedly teamed up with his ex-girlfriend, Lindsay Groves, who worked at a daycare center called Creative Minds in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts, to exploit children under the age of five. Federal investigators said Groves took nude photos of toddlers and sent them to Laughton while Laughton was serving in the New Hampshire House of Representatives.
Let that sink in. A sitting lawmaker, writing bills by day, lusting after daycare photos by night. Read more on the sentencing here. RedState previously covered the charges against Laughton here.
Court filings show they “exchanged thousands of text messages” while sharing the images, and in those texts, Laughton openly discussed wanting to have sex with the children. That’s not “inappropriate behavior.” That’s evil.

Of course, the mainstream media, back in 2012, couldn’t celebrate this person fast enough. They tripped over themselves to run headlines like “History Made in New Hampshire” and “A First for Trans Representation.” CNN and NPR rolled out the red carpet for this person’s “courage.”
None of them mentioned the credit card fraud convictions that had already marred Laughton’s record. None of them bothered to look deeper, because the narrative mattered more than the truth. Representation over reality. Identity over integrity.
Fast-forward a decade, and the same “historic first” is pleading guilty to exploiting toddlers. It’s almost too on-the-nose, if it weren’t so horrifying.
This is the part where the left will tell us, “Well, this isn’t about being transgender.” But that’s precisely the problem. Everything is about being transgender to them, until it’s time to take responsibility. They want the glory when one of their own wins a local election, but none of the blame when that “trailblazer” turns out to be a felonious predator.
The sad truth is that Laughton’s story isn’t an isolated tragedy. It’s the predictable end of a movement that’s lost any moral compass. We’ve spent the past decade watching Democrats rewrite biology, erase boundaries, and label anyone who questions it as a bigot. They screamed, “Love is love!”, and now they can’t even say, “This is wrong.”
The media has tried to frame this case as just another “personal downfall.” But it’s not personal; it’s cultural. It’s what happens when we make delusion a virtue and character a punchline. When a nation celebrates mental illness as identity, it should shock no one when that celebration slides into criminality. The entire system that elevated Laughton was built on denial. Denying truth. Denying biology. Denying sin. Now they’re denying any connection between their radical ideology and the monsters it sometimes breeds.

And yet, conservatives, pastors, parents, teachers, anyone with common sense, have been screaming from the rooftops: this isn’t compassion, it’s confusion. You can’t rip down moral boundaries without inviting moral collapse. You can’t let the fox define “inclusivity” while it’s guarding the daycare.
Laughton’s case is proof. The so-called “progressive firsts” the left loves to glorify keep turning out to be walking cautionary tales. The movement’s “heroes” seem to spend more time in courtrooms than in classrooms. This isn’t transphobia; it’s pattern recognition.
The left calls it progress. The rest of us call it perversion.
Laughton’s plea is more than a criminal admission; it’s a cultural confession. It says what polite society won’t: that when you destroy the foundations of truth, when you elevate identity over decency, and when you stop calling evil by its name, you end up right here, with the monsters in charge of making laws.
And the rest of us are left saying the same thing we’ve said all along: we told you so.
