A former classmate of racist University of Kentucky student Sophia Rosing, ho attended Beechwood with her,  has branded her a ‘bully’ who has had her ‘true personality’ exposed by her own vile rant

A former classmate of racist University of Kentucky student Sophia Rosing has branded her a ‘bully’ who has had her ‘true personality’ exposed by her own vile rant.

Rosing, 22, was arrested early Sunday morning after she stumbled into the dorms on campus in Lexington, Kentucky, before she launched herself at fellow student Kylah Spring, who was working the front desk.

Footage showed her violent and racist outburst against Spring, with court documents revealing that she called her a ‘n*****’ more than 200 times.

A former classmate told DailyMail.com that they were not surprised after witnessing the video, saying ‘this is not new behaviour from her’.

The girl, who was 15 at the time, claims that Rosing made her life a living hell for the short period of time they were at Beechwood Independent High school together.

Rosing allegedly started rumours about the pupil ‘getting pregnant and getting an abortion’ in high school, which was not true.

At one point the girl and her family even threatened to involve the police after Rosing reportedly shared her number online along with the claim that she would send explicit images.

The student, who wished to remain anonymous, told DailyMail.com: ‘I always felt like I had to bow down to her.

‘She started rumours about me, she told a bunch of people that I was pregnant and got an abortion in high school which was not true.

‘The harassment caused by her was just constant, she would say nasty comments in the hallway and at one point we had to threaten to press charges unless she stopped.

‘She would also comment on big Instagram pages posting my number and saying that I would send explicit images, so I would be harassed by men of all ages because of her doing that.

‘She also tried to get me, and my siblings kicked out of school, saying that they didn’t live in the district. Beechwood is an independent school, and you have to live in the district.

‘Once she saw my stepbrother go home to his mom’s so then tried to get us all kicked out of Beechwood. She bullied me and made my life hell.

‘I was pulled out of the school at the end of the year because of her constant bullying.’

Rosing’s classmate also claims that her parents will ‘throw money’ at the problem in an attempt to ‘make it go away’.

The business and marketing major was pictured leaving Fayette Detention Centre on Monday night, with her parents Jill and Don Rosing who paid her $10,000 bail.

She had her head covered with a black cloth and tried to obscure her face by holding paper in front of herself as she made her way to a car.

Her classmate added: ‘Not a lot of people of colour attend Beechwood, but I don’t recall her ever saying anything outwardly.

‘Her parents are going to throw money at this to try to make it go away for her. The video 100% shows her true colours, her behaviour has been the same since high school.

‘She doesn’t live in a mansion by any means, but she does live in a very expensive area. Her bragging about how much money she has isn’t new either, she would do that at school too.

‘Everything that happened is not new behaviour, it was not a loss of judgement she has just had her true personality be exposed due to her drunken behaviour.

‘She is not a very nice person, and karma comes around.’

In the full 10-minute-long clip, Rosing is told that she ruined her life to which she brazenly replied ‘no I didn’t’ before quietly singing the n-word over and over before police arrived to arrest her.

Even after the University of Kentucky officer has her in handcuffs, the business and marketing major can still be heard softly singing the word as she is dragged away.

Rosing can also be heard telling Spring to ‘do her chores’ as well as calling her an ‘ugly n***** b****’ while horrified students look on and some try to intervene.

Spring attended an anti-racism march on Monday night following the attack on Sunday, where she made an impassioned speech and told Rosing ‘you will not break my spirit.’

The desk clerk, a freshman at the university, became emotional as she addressed the dozens of people who attended the march in her honour.

Breaking down as she addressed the crowd, Spring said: ‘I was physically, verbally and racially assaulted by Jane Doe, aka Sophia Rosing.

‘This is a recurring issue in and across the American school system no matter what age. I am deeply saddened by the events that took place, but I am most grateful for justice that is to come.

‘To Miss Rosing. You will not break my spirit and you will be held accountable for your actions. I only pray that you open your heart to love and try to experience life differently and more positively.

‘As Michelle Obama once said, when they go low, we go high. I will continue to address this situation with grace and humility.’

Rosing on Monday sobbed as she appeared via video link at at District Court to plead not guilty to charges of intoxication in a public place, third-degree assault on a police officer, fourth-degree assault and second-degree disorderly conduct.

Pictures obtained by DailyMail.com show her walking out of the Fayette County Detention Center later Monday night, still wearing a tight skirt and boots.

She was accompanied by her parents, Jill and Don Rosing, who paid her $10,000 bond. Rosing is now banned from contacting Spring and will not be allowed to return to Boyd Hall, or drink alcohol.

Rosing attempted to cover her face while leaving the detention centre on Monday night, and her parents ignored questions when approached by DailyMail.com.

During her rampage, Rosing told University of Kentucky police officers that she gets ‘special treatment’ because she has ‘lots of money’, according to WKYT.

She ‘kicked and bit’ officers as they tried to place her under arrest, according to court documents.

University Police were finally able to take Rosing into custody just before 4am on Sunday following the now viral incident. She was being held at the Fayette County Detention Center – where she refused to identify herself to officers upon her arrival in the early hours.

Now, university students are calling for Rosing to be expelled from the university and are also urging President Eli Capilouto to do more.

A petition on Change.org has also been set up to get Rosing expelled from the school, with 117 people signing so far.

Spring, who was assaulted by Rosing, shared a post which said: ‘Eli, as per usual makes a statement that means jack s*** without action.

‘Sophia Rosing needs to be held accountable and expelled for what she did. We will not tolerate this hate on campus.’

When asked by DailyMail.com if Rosing would be suspended, the University declined to comment because the disciplinary investigation was ongoing.

Rosing had bragged to fellow students the year before the vile racist incident, saying ‘I’m rich as f*** and you’re obviously not’.

But DailyMail.com can reveal that she grew up in a modest three-bedroom and two-bathroom family property in Fort Mitchell with her parents and siblings.

Her father, Paul Donald Rosing, works as an Technology Executive for Messer Construction Co, but relatives of Rosing have not yet responded to request for comment.

Meanwhile, Rosing herself has been fired by fashion brand Dillard’s for her outburst.

She was part of the Campus Collective Program, with a Dillard’s spokesperson saying: ‘Dillard’s does not condone this behavior. Her relationship with Dillard’s has been terminated immediately.’

In video of the incident posted online, Rosing was barely able to stand up straight as she tried to hit student Kylah Spring, who was working at the front desk of a dormitory on campus.

Video of the attack showed Rosing, who is white, calling Spring a ‘n***** b***’ as the front desk clerk tried to restrain her and prevent her from getting into an elevator.

‘Could you stop please?’ Spring asked Rosing after she managed to escape Spring’s grasp.

‘Nope,’ Rosing responded, before Spring tried to grab her again. Rosing then continued to repeat the racial slur, causing Spring to say: ‘Ooh Jesus, I do not get paid enough for this.’

‘Exactly and you’re a n***** and you’re a b****,’ Rosing responded several times before a voice off-camera told Spring: ‘I’ve got this all on video.’

A second video showed Spring and another black student trying to get her to sit in a chair, when Rosing hit out at the second black victim and tried to kick Spring.

A University of Kentucky police officer then handcuffed Rosing in the dorm as she continued to repeat the racial slur and struggled to stay standing.

In an Instagram post following the altercation, Spring explained why she had intervened in the first place.

She explained that Rosing walked into Boyd Hall, on Martin Luther King Blvd, after Spring had refused her entry because she did not have an ID card on her.

When blonde Rosing managed to get into the lobby she stumbled as she approached the elevators, which concerned Spring who was behind the front desk.

Spring said: ‘I worked a shift tonight where was assaulted and called a n*****, and someone said other racial slurs towards me.

‘It is a part of our job that if we see a student that’s like very drunk, we are to call an RA to… write a report.

‘So I reach my head out of the desk area, and I ask the girl ‘Are you OK?” Spring recounted, ‘and she stared at me and started to call me a n*****.’

At that point Spring called the RA and tried to prevent Rosing from entering the elevator, to wait for someone to arrive to help.

She added: ‘And so I jumped in, I tried to move her off to the side, and she just kept going ‘No n*****, you’re a b****, you’re a n*****, do my chores b****.

‘And she kept doing that as I was trying to sit her down.’

Spring said that is when Rosing kicked her in the stomach, tried to run her over with a shopping cart that was in the lobby and bit her friend.

In an email to students following the altercation, President Eli Capilouto said Spring ‘acted with professionalism, restraint and discretion.’

He noted that the school’s Office of Student Conduct has launched an immediate review of the assault, and that its Student Success teams ‘are reaching out to the student victims who were subject to this behavior to offer support.’

It added: ‘To be clear: We condemn this behavior and will not tolerate it under any circumstances,’ he said, as he vowed to update students with more information as it becomes available.

The disturbing video is not the first instance of Rosing berating other students while intoxicated.

In another video posted shortly after the footage of the assault went viral, Rosing could be seen telling someone off camera at a party: ‘I’m rich as f*** and you’re obviously not compared to what you’re wearing.

‘And I can do you and you can’t do s*** about it, especially since you don’t know my last name. But I know God-d*** well who you are.’
