Kids, it’s time to find out how Hilary Duff met her husband in the new How I Met Your Mother sequel series How I Met Your Father.

The new sitcom isn’t a reboot or revival of the legendary CBS sitcom, but it does take place in the same universe. This time, Duff plays 30-year-old photographer Sophie looking for love in New York City and telling her children the whole winding story.

Kim Cattrall appears as the future version of Sophie, while Francia Raisa, Chris Lowell, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran, and Suraj Sharma round out the cast of Sophie’s friends. Of course, the Duff-fronted comedy is one of 2022’s most highly anticipated new shows.

But where can Hilary Duff fans and How I Met Your Mother fans alike check out How I Met Your Father? Unfortunately, the sitcom isn’t available to stream on Netflix since it’s exclusive to another streaming service. We share everything you need to know to watch below!

Where to watch How I Met Your Father

How I Met Your Father premieres on Tuesday, Jan. 18 on Hulu with its first two episodes. After that, the 10-episode season will release weekly on Tuesdays on Hulu.

It’s highly unlikely that How I Met Your Father will ever stream on Netflix, and it’s also unlikely that its sire series will ever return to Netflix after leaving many years ago. The 20th Century Fox-produced show, which is now under the Disney umbrella, will likely stay put on the Disney-owned streamer Hulu.

Since the series is being billed as a “standalone sequel,” we shouldn’t expect to see any drop-ins from Ted, Marshall, Lily, Robin, or Barney. Still, HIMYM fans should keep their eyes peeled for Easter eggs and references to the original series. Fingers crossed for some cameos someday!
