Jackson man killed in ATV accident in Lacey

LACEY — A 58-year old Jackson man died after an all-terrain vehicle he was driving overturned several times in the woods of Lacey Township.

Police said Jackson resident Michael D’Amore was traveling in an open dirt area of Lacey Materials, when the 2019 Polaris RZR side-by-side ATV he was driving hit a dirt embankment and became airborne. The ATV impacted the ground with its front end, causing the vehicle to flip end over end several times, according to the Lacey Township Police Department.

D’Amore was the only occupant of the vehicle. D’Amore was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.The Forked River Fire Department, RWJ Barnabas Paramedics, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI Unit and Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the incident.The crash remains under investigation.
