‘House of Horrors’ survivors Jordan and Jennifer Turpin have fulfilled their dream of meeting country singer Garth Brooks – as they revealed how sneakily watching his DVDs was one of the only things that brought them ‘light’ in the ‘darkness’ of their abusive home.

The sisters – whose parents, David and Louise Turpin, were later convicted of torture, false imprisonment, and endangerment – escaped in 2018 after Jordan bravely climbed through a window and managed to call for help.

Now, they have met one of their childhood heroes, whose music helped them get through the horrible abuse, pain, torture, and suffering that they endured throughout their childhoods at the hands of their parents.

The two ladies got to spend time with the musician, 60, and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, 57, on Saturday before attending his sold out show at Petco Park in San Diego, California as part of the Garth Brooks Stadium Tour.

‘I had a Garth Brooks DVD collection while living through Hell,’ Jennifer wrote on Instagram, alongside a series of photos from the concert.

One showed her, Garth, and Trisha smiling together in the empty arena, while another saw her looking at a t-shirt he had autographed for her while appearing emotional. She also posted videos from throughout the show.

She continued: ‘When [David and Louise] were gone, I’d sneak and play it on our television. Thank you @garthbrooks for being a light through our darkness.’

For Jordan’s part, she posted a snap of her hugging the Friends in Love Places artist, while gushing over how much fun she had at the concert.

She said, ‘I had so much fun today! I love you, Garth, amazing show tonight! Thank you so much! God bless!’

Jordan managed to flee from her parents home in Perris, California – where she, Jennifer, and their 11 siblings lived – before she phoned 911 and alerted the police of her parent’s abuse.

Details later emerged about how the Turpins beat and starved their children, shackling them to beds and denying them basic hygiene like showers – which only occurred once a year.

The kids were mainly kept in their rooms except for meals, which had been reduced from three times to once per day, a combination of lunch and dinner.

For years, the siblings’ diet consisted of nothing but two slices of bread with peanut butter or bologna.

The couple was also accused of taunting their children with food that they were forbidden to eat. The Turpin parents would chow down on fast food in front of them, and chained the children to filthy beds if they tried to steal food.

When the children were rescued, all but the two-year-old were severely underweight.

The parents’ abuse and neglect was so ‘severe, pervasive, [and] prolonged’ that it stunted their children’s growth, led to muscle wasting, and left two of their daughters unable to bear children.

The Turpin parents pleaded guilty to several felonies last year, and were each sentenced to life sentences with the possibility of parole after serving 25 years.

Jordan is now thriving on her own, and has become a budding TikTok star, racking up more than 600,000 followers for her fun dance videos, as well as clips that show her trying out makeup and modeling different outfits.

As for Jennifer, she also often shares pictures and videos online, and she has gained more than 38,000 followers on TikTok and 60,000 on Instagram.

However, their other siblings haven’t had it as easy. Both women have invited their supporters to donate to the JAYC Foundation’s fund for their other siblings, several of whom have continued to face struggles since escaping.

After being rescued, some of the children said that the social services system that was supposed to help them transition to new lives didn’t do what it was supposed to.

Riverside County has hired a private law firm to look into allegations that the seven adult and six minor children in the Turpin family did not get basic services they needed after they were freed from their parents’ prison-like home, ABC News reported in November.

A conservatorship, like the one Britney Spears was recently freed from, is allegedly preventing even the adult Turpins from accessing some $600,000 in donated funds, leaving them living in squalor and on the brink of homelessness.

There also is a criminal investigation underway of a foster family suspected of mistreating several children, including one of the Turpins, ABC reported. A lawyer for that family denied the allegations.

Some of the children ‘felt betrayed’ by local officials’ handling of their cases, said Melissa Donaldson, Riverside County’s director of victim services.

Donaldson said there were times when the children did not have a safe place to stay or enough food.

She cried as she described how the children, who had little contact with the outside world while being held like prisoners by their parents, were at times left on their own to try to work through a complicated bureaucracy.
