Kanye West’s 2020 campaign committee claim they were defrauded

Kanye West’s 2020 presidential campaign committee claims they were defrauded out of thousands of dollars, according to a new letter.

A letter sent to to the Federal Election Commission Tuesday and obtained by TMZ said the committee conducted an investigation and found someone accessed their account three times between December and February 2021.

The campaign reportedly tried to get the money back from the First Bank of Wyoming — where the funds were presumably held — but were unable to do so.

It appears the investigation also found that the stolen money, totaling $3,999, was used to pay off an unnamed individual’s credit card.

According to TMZ, the FEC was first to flag the seemingly fraudulent activity. No arrests have reportedly been made and West’s former committee is working with the FEC to gather more information.

A rep for West did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment on the matter or whether the Yeezy CEO is aware of this issue.

West announced he was running for president in July 2020 under the newly formed “Birthday Party.”

Leading up to Election Day, he even took out an ad in the New York Times, which was paid for by the Kanye 2020 campaign.

The open letter, titled “Dear Future,” was meant to show how the “Jesus Walks” rapper “envisions the future of America should be,” a source told Page Six at the time.

However, by Nov. 4, 2020, West conceded the presidential election after failing to get enough votes.

“WELP,” he wrote in the tweet. “KANYE 2024.”

According to other preliminary tallies. he got 3,979 votes in Arkansas; in Idaho, 2,309; in Iowa, 3,179; in Kentucky, 6,259; in Louisiana, 4,837; in Minnesota, 6,796; in Mississippi, 3,009; in Oklahoma, 5,587; in Tennessee, 10,188; and in Utah, he got 4,053 votes.

West also announced at the time that he voted for himself.
