The King and Prince William were last night urged to make statements to police about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s role in the Epstein scandal.
High-profile US lawyer Gloria Allred, who has represented 27 of the paedophile’s victims, insisted both men – along with the Princess of Wales – should come forward and answer detectives’ questions.
‘I would respectfully request that they speak out about what Andrew may have told them,’ Ms Allred told the BBC.
Noting King Charles and other royals ‘have said they support the victims’, she added: ‘The best way to support the victims is for them to do interviews with the police if they are requested to do so.
‘Or they could volunteer to do so and just say what they know and answer any questions.’
Ms Allred said she was glad the Royal Family had ‘their thoughts with the victims’, she urged them to do more.
She said: ‘I think they could also perhaps share what Fergie or maybe what the princesses, Fergie’s and Andrew’s daughters, learned when they met Jeffrey Epstein shortly after he was convicted.’
Her plea comes as Met Police is poised to widen its investigation into Andrew by focusing on his ‘inner circle of friends, advisers, associates’.

It has already asked Andrew’s police protection officers to ‘consider carefully anything they saw or heard’ as focus widens from misconduct in public office to sexual misconduct allegations.
Another prominent lawyer David Boies, who represented Andrew accuser Virginia Giuffre, yesterday criticised the Met and Crown Prosecution Service’s past failings.
They had claimed in 2016 no action could be taken against Andrew as allegations were largely outside of the UK but Mr Boies called this ‘clearly erroneous’ as there was ‘photographic evidence of Andrew and Virginia Giuffre at Maxwell’s London house’.
Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing but has not directly responded to the latest allegations.
