Kogi police arrest three for raising alarm that led to lynching of alleged manhood snatcher

Three suspects were on Tuesday, October 10, paraded by Kogi Police Command for false alarm that led to the lynching of a man accused of snatching their manhood.

 

The suspects identified as Harish Abdurasheed,18; Yakubu Mohammed, 25; and Haruna Adamu, 28, all of Hausa descent living in Ayetoro Gbede, were arrested at Ayetoro Gbede in Kabba/Ijumu Local govt area of the state.

 

One of the suspects, 25-year-old Yakubu Mohammed said they felt a sensation on their private part after the deceased okada man who is also his friend, Usman Abubakar, came to greet them. He said they raised an alarm and also reported to the police and the Hausa community leaders.

 

He said; 

 

“We were sleeping when suddenly policemen arrived and accused them of raising false alarm and that the man had been lynched.” 

 

The suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
