Lauren Bushnell and husband Chris Lane revealed they are expecting their second child, who is due in October, less than a year after their son’s birth.
The couple, who tied the knot on October 25, 2019 in Nashville, shared the first of the 32-year-oldBachelor vet’s growing baby bump as they sat side-by-side with their baby boy Dutton Walker, 11 months, between them.
‘Party of 4,’ the former flight attendant captioned their announcement post via Instagram, which showed her cradling her stomach.
Lane and Bushnell matched in plain white t-shirts while their firstborn wore a sage green sweatshirt with ‘brother’ on it and white sweatpants.
The trio sat in Dutton’s nursery on a light grey couch with two floating book shelves behind them filled with books, including Dragons Love Tacos by Adam Rubin and Wendy Ravenhill and Cee Biscoe’s The Very Brave Lion.
‘To be quite honest, I’ve never been more shocked in my entire life, because this was very much an unexpected surprise,’ Bushnell told People of the exciting news.

She continued: ‘We had planned on having at least two kids, so we’re very thankful that it was able to happen for us, even if it wasn’t necessarily on our exact timing. We’re both just incredibly excited.’
As for what gender they are hoping for Lane predicted they would most likely be having another boy.
‘My family as a whole, all the guys in our family, we make a lot of boys,’ he shared. ‘No one in the family — minus one person — has even had a girl. So if I had to guess, I’m going to carry on that tradition and it’s probably going to be a boy, but for Lauren’s sake, I think…My parents are dying for a little girl, so we’ll see!’

While reflecting on the last three months, the Hold You Tonight hitmaker said Bushnell’s pregnancy has has brought them ‘even closer’ than he thought ‘was possible.’
‘We make a great team,’ he gushed of his spouse.
Lane also recalled how surprised Bushnell was after her pregnancy test came back positive as he was putting their son down for a nap.

‘It was very shocking!’ he admitted.
Bushnell interjected: ‘But now we’re just like, “OK, we can do this.” Wasn’t necessarily the plan, but we’re so thankful that we’re able to have another. We had planned on having at least two kids so we’re very thankful that it was able to happen for us, even if it wasn’t necessarily on our exact timing.’
She also noted she didn’t have any pregnancy symptoms until she was ‘around the six-and-a-half-week mark.’

‘It really hit me like a ton of bricks,’ the mother-of-one said. ‘The sickness has been a little bit more challenging this time around just physically. Unfortunately, I was so sick for a couple of days in a row that I actually had to go to the hospital and get some fluids.’
And, chasing around her tot ‘while Chris was on tour’ also made things a little harder.
‘We’re very excited now that the shock phase and then the sickness phase that came right after that are over and we can move past those parts. We’re both just incredibly excited,’ she raved.
While reflecting on how her last pregnancy was different than this one, she said she ‘started showing a little bit sooner’ and is ‘fully anticipating the potential of having another 9 lb. baby’ (pictured in 2019)

When asked about how becoming parents has changed their relationship, Lane replied: ‘Having a kid is a lot of work and I feel like you have to have a great partner or it’s easy to see how it would not work out — it becomes too stressful.’
‘I’ve just realized that Lauren and I are literally a perfect fit for each other. I thought that before we had a child, but having a little boy has made me think that even more so, because I just feel like we’re a great combination,’ he concluded.
Still, this time around, they said they’re definitely going to ‘stress out’ less over ‘little things’ when their second child arrives.
