Lizzo Documentary In The Works For HBO Max And Set To Drop This Fall

Throughout the last few years, Lizzo has cultivated one of the most successful careers in the music industry—and now her inspiring life story is coming soon to TV screens. It has just been announced that a documentary is currently in the works about the life and career of Lizzo, with streaming service HBO Max gearing up for a Fall 2022 release.

@Billboard reports, during the recent Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront presentation, Lizzo officially announced that her documentary is set to be released on HBO Max this fall. The currently untitled documentary film is described as “the journey of a trailblazing superstar who has become the movement the world desperately needed just by being herself. The HBO Max documentary shares the inspirational story behind her humble beginnings to her meteoric rise with an intimate look into the moments that shaped her hard-earned rise to fame, success, love and international stardom.”

Speaking at the upfront presentation, held at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, Lizzo discussed her excitement at getting to share her journey with her fans:

“Growing up I never dreamed I’d get to experience all of the things I’ve accomplished in my life, and I’m just getting started. I’m so excited I get to share and relive my journey with my fans and HBO Max. From ‘Cuz I Love You’ to my dramatic world tour, losing and gaining love, and creating my new album ‘Special,’ y’all get to see the amount of time, patience, blood, sweat and tears that went into this process. It takes 10 years to become an ‘overnight success,’ and hopefully I can inspire other young creatives to keep going.”

Although 2022 has yet to hit the halfway mark, Lizzo already has a host of projects her fans can look forward to before the year ends. She will release her new album ‘Special’ on July 15th and follow it up with a North American tour that kicks off on September 23rd.
