Aaron Rodgers is in 'no rush' to decide his future - despite the Vikings opting not to sign him

Aaron Rodgers is reportedly in ‘no rush at all’ to decide his NFL future – despite the Minnesota Vikings opting not to sign the legendary quarterback.

The 41-year-old quarterback is looking for a new team after being released by the New York Jets.

On Wednesday, it was reported that the Vikings had decided to make J.J. McCarthy their starter next season.

But, according to ESPN, the setback has not changed Rodgers’ plans. It’s claimed that the four-time MVP remains in ‘no rush at all’ to decide his next move.

That is despite the number of possible landing spots dwindling with the NFL Draft on the horizon.

It now looks likely that Rodgers, 41, will join either the Pittsburgh Steelers or New York Giants.

Minnesota was reported to have been Rodgers’ preferred destination after leaving the Jets on the back of two miserable seasons.

The Vikings went 14-3 last season before back-to-back defeats by the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams saw them miss out on the NFC’s No 1 seed – and then crash out in the wild card round of the playoffs.

Kevin O’Connell’s team boasts exceptional offensive talent with Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, Aaron Jones and T.J. Hockenson all signed up for next season.

However, it is a huge show of confidence in McCarthy going into the new season.

The 22-year-old tore his right meniscus during his preseason debut last August, causing him to miss all of his first season in Minnesota.

Now with Sam Darnold moving on to the Seattle Seahawks, and Daniel Jones trying to become the starter in Indianapolis, McCarthy is on track to be the Vikings’ top signal caller.
