MANCHESTER – A township teenager has been charged with theft and criminal mischief after the public helped identify him as the suspect spotted on a Ring home security video taking Amazon packages left outside the house, police said.
Manchester Patrolman Keith Craig responded to the home on Lawrence Avenue in the Pine Lake Park section of the township after residents there reported several Amazon packages were stolen July 13, police said.
Using Ring home security footage, the Manchester Police Department watched video of a suspect taking the packages. The police department posted two images from the video to their social media page and asked the public for help. It wasn’t long before citizens helped Craig identify the suspect as 18-year-old Asim Hines of Manchester, police said in a press release.
“Their concerns were that there was a thief stealing property and they wanted the responsible person to be caught,” said Manchester Police Capt. Vincent Manco.
