Many terrorists killed as police repel attack, rescue 15 kidnapped women and 6 children in Katsina

Operatives of the Katsina State Police Command repelled a terrorists attack, rescued 15 kidnapped women and six children in Matazu Local Government Area of the state. 

 

Spokesperson of the command, SP Gambo Isah, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, October 28, said police operatives killed some of the terrorists and also recovered 20 rustled cows.

 

According to the statement, the bandits, armed with AK-47 rifles attacked two communities, shooting sporadically in the early hours of Friday and abducted 21 victims in the process.

 

“Today being 28/10/2022 at about 0430hrs, a distress call was received that terrorists in their numbers, on motorbikes, shooting sporadically with AK 47 rifles, attacked Buraji and Sabon Sara villages, kidnap fifteen (15) women and six (6) children and rustled twenty (20) cows,” the statement read.

 

“On receipt of the information, Area Commander, Dutsinma, ACP Mohammad Makama, led a team of police tactical units, blocked their exits route at Gandun Sarki village, engaged them into fierce gun duel and successfully rescued all the twenty-one (21) kidnapped victims and recovered twenty (20) rustled cows,”

 

“Many terrorists were killed and some escaped the scene with gunshots wounds. Tactical teams are still combing the area with a view of recovering their dead bodies and/or arresting the injured terrorists. Investigation is ongoing.” the PPRO added.
