And away from the cameras, Wuthering Heights co-stars Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi’s professional relationship has also been raising eyebrows after they made a series of gushing comments about one another.
So gratuitous has their behaviour been that fans have started accusing the pair of taking part in a ‘lame’ publicity stunt in order to promote the movie.
Yet speaking to Daily Mail, body language expert Judi James has revealed that whether Margot or Jacob’s relationship has been hammed up or not, the actress’ husband Tom Ackerley has seemingly reacted awkwardly to the discourse.
On Wednesday, the trio united at the Wuthering Heights premiere afterparty where they had an awkward interaction alongside the film’s producer Josey McNamara and director Emerald Fennell.
Tom and Jacob stood on either end of the group for the photos and Judi revealed that Tom’s ‘mixed emotions smile’ suggested ‘the faintest hint of a cry for help’.

Judi continued: ‘The posing looks a little cruel here, not just because very few if many men could style it out opposite Jacob, but because Tom is not posing next to his wife, which he might have done as her “plus one” for the afterparty evening.
‘When he does pose with Margot in these photos he’s still in a sandwich, this time with her producer on the other side.’
Yet while he may have shown signs of uncertainty, Judi noted that ‘Tom’s actual body pose looks relatively mature and relaxed, with one hand in his pocket suggesting a desire to look suave.’
Margot, meanwhile, projected assurance with her stature, with Judi noting she had the ‘look of a very excited Wuthering showgirl, with her wide eye expression and her wide, teeth-baring smile projecting utter delight, while her splayed legs suggest confidence.
In comparison, Judi picked up on Jacob’s laidback nature, saying: ‘Jacob always looks like a man who has, thanks to his height and his traffic-stopping looks, adopted a more neutral and even passive body language presence, like he’s been dropped into situations from planet cool.
‘He tends to look charming but also unbothered by any fuss or attention, which is the mark of the true star.
‘Posing alone with Margot, he applies little or no effort here, simply standing beside her with one arm casually around her waist with his fingers carefully curled upward to avoid any suggestion of clasping or clutching.
‘Jacob’s hands are famously huge, and he appears to be aware how to avoid any form of speculation via his placements.
‘His expression looks neutral and he leaves the excited grinning to Margot, leaning his head away and keeping his right hand straight down at his side.’

Jacob previously raised eyebrows when he declared that he and Margot were ‘obsessed’ with each other while filming the blockbuster, and claimed he made sure he was no less than 10 metres away from the Barbie actress ‘at all times’.
‘We have a mutual obsession,’ he told US entertainment platform Fandango, as the blonde beauty sat nearby.
‘I think the thing is, regardless of plot or screenplay, if you have the opportunity to share a film set with Margot Robbie, you’re going to make sure you’re within 5 to 10 metres at all times.
‘Watching how she drinks tea, how she eats her food, how she does it. When is it going to slip? When is the thing going to come undone? And, it never comes undone,’ he added.
The mutual ‘obsession’ helped with getting into character, as Jacob added: ‘There’d be a moment where we’d be running hand-in-hand through the moors, maybe not even in the scene, just setting it up, where I’d look across at her and she’d be looking at me and you really realized you are looking at Catherine and she was looking at Heathcliffe’
‘And in that moment, we really were a part of their love, for real.”
Meanwhile Margot claimed that she became ‘co-dependent’ on Jacob.
She said: ‘I’m so codependent with people I work with and I love everyone so much and I’m always that person who’s so devastated when a job’s over and I never want it to end. I think I developed that quite quickly with Jacob too.’
Margot went on to add that she became so accustomed to the Saltburn star’s presence that when he wasn’t around, she felt ‘really unnerved and unmoored’, adding: ‘And I felt quite lost, like a kid without their blanket or something.’

The Barbie star also revealed the touching gesture Jacob made when they filmed over Valentine’s Day last year.
She recalled: ‘We were shooting on Valentine’s Day. You made my day and, as Heathcliff, filled my room with roses.
‘I remember thinking on Valentine’s Day, oh he’s probably a very good boyfriend, ’cause there’s a lot of thoughtfulness in this. You did a lot of very thoughtful things.’
Margot also waxed lyrical about Jacob’s acting skills, branding The Kissing Booth 2 star ‘the new Daniel Day-Lewis’.
She told The Guardian: ‘He’s incredible and I believe in him so much.’

Each of the beautiful rings features an image of two skeletons embracing, and the words ‘Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.’
UK designer Cece Fein-Hughes, who created the rings, took to her social media to share behind-the-scenes details about the jewellery and a gallery of images.
‘What an honour it was to create matching pieces for Margot Robbie & Jacob Elordi, celebrating their time filming together as Catherine & Heathcliff in the new Wuthering Heights,’ she said in the Instagram post.

Elsewhere, Fein-Hughes of Cece Jewellery London shared that the words used on the hand-enamelled gold rings were written by Wuthering Heights author Emily Brontë.
She added that each detail of the design was intended to tell ‘a story of passion, devotion, and wild romance’.
Each signet ring features two skeleton skulls, sitting in a tangle of thorns, and locked in an ‘eternal’ embrace.
Both of the signet rings are engraved with the initials of Cathy and Heathcliff- the doomed lovers played by Margot and Jacob in the film.
Another feature is the inscription ‘1847-2026’, a reference to the year that saw the publication of Brontë’s classic novel – and the release of the new Wuthering Heights film.
‘Gifted to Jacob by Margot, the piece features two entwined skeletons in the exact pose of the iconic film poster, a quiet reminder that love never truly dies,’ Fein-Hughes said in her post.
She added, ‘As time passes and everything else withers away, what remains is the enduring bond between two souls,’ adding a love heart emoji.
One image in the gallery showed the stars showing off their rings – with Margot gently gripping her co-star’s hand.
Wuthering Heights also stars Shazad Latif, Hong Chau, Alison Oliver, Charlotte Mellington and Owen Cooper and is co-produced by Margot’s LuckyChap Entertainment — the same company behind 2023 hits Barbie and Saltburn.
She runs the company with husband Tom, with whom she welcomed a baby boy in October 2024.
