NBA Blockbuster Trade on the Brink, Michael Vick Sued for $1.2 million, and More – RedState

- Advertisment -

The NBA trade rumors are heating up, as the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets seem to be on the brink of a massive trade that would send Kyrie Irving to the Lakers and Russell Westbrook to the Nets. In the NFL world, ESPN listed one underrated player from each team — including Buccaneers wide receiver Russell Gage and Washington Commanders running back Antonio Gibson.

NBA Roundup:

Following Miles Bridges’ domestic violence charge by the LAPD, the Charlotte Hornets will likely pull the qualifying offer, making Bridges an unrestricted free agent.

Zion Williamson signed a five-year, $193 million extension with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Cleveland Cavaliers rising star Darius Garland signed a five-year, $193 million extension.

Cody Martin re-signed a four-year, $32 million deal with the Charlotte Hornets.

The Atlanta Hawks traded Jock Landale to the Phoenix Suns.

Josh Okogie signed a one-year deal with the Suns.

Center Bismack Biyombo re-signed with the Phoneix Suns.

Rookie Kenneth Murray made his summer league debut tonight. He finished the game with 26 points on 71 percent shooting in just 28 minutes.

NFL Roundup:

According to the Miami Herald, former NFL quarterback Michael Vick allegedly owes around $1.2 million to a group of creditors. Vick’s home in Southwest Ranches, Florida is protected due to state law; however, other assets may be at risk. As updates come up, they will be included in the roundup.

ESPN ranked the most underrated player on all 32 NFL teams. The two players that stood out were Russell Gage and Antonio Gibson.

Tom Brady recruited Gage to Tampa Bay during the off-season. Gage is expected to be the third option behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin; however, tighter coverage on Evans and Godwin could open up more opportunities for Brady to target Gage. He could be in for a career year in Tampa Bay.

The Washington Commanders have a new quarterback, and that means more passing back opportunities for Antonio Gibson. Gibson may see reduced goal-line work, but he may see more targets, allowing him to work in the open field. Gibson could also be in for a career year if J.D. McKissic is utilized as a slot wide receiver instead of a passing back.
