The documentary’s synopsis reads: ‘Highly decorated Navy SEAL Marcus Capone returns from Afghanistan and attempts to readjust to civilian life.

Fans have now been taking to social media to praise the documentary for its portrayal of PTSD and the unconventional method of treating the illness.

 They praised: ‘Just watched the documentary called In Waves & War. So heart breaking what veterans have to go through post-service but this shows a different method of healing that is helping a lot of people.

‘It’s definitely more hopeful for healing trauma. Highly recommend on Netflix.;

The unconventional PTSD explored in the documentary is psychedelic therapy, which is illustrated through animated segments to convey how it works. 

Following its success with the documentary’s protagonist, Marcus, the film follows his attempts to introduce the treatment to other PTSD-afflicted veterans. 

Fans were equally complimentary about the documentary on the film social media platform, Letterboxd.
