Netflix Takes Hardline Stance Against Woke Employees In New 'Culture Memo'

Netflix has increased its portfolio of woke content and themes in recent years, which has proven to be disliked by the majority of Americans who have canceled their subscriptions in protest.

Now, the streaming service giant is trying to salvage its viewership.

Netflix has just published a new corporate culture memo informing staff about programming changes. And that if staffers did not like said changes, they might be working for the wrong company.

Perhaps most notably, the memo contains a new section under “Artistic Expression,” which states that Netflix will not “censor specific artists or voices.” Here’s the kicker: The company plans on doing this even if employees believe the content is “harmful.”

The Netflix memo said:

Entertaining the world is an amazing opportunity and also a challenge because viewers have very different tastes and points of view. So we offer a wide variety of TV shows and movies, some of which can be provocative. We support the artistic expression of the creators we choose to work with” and that “we let viewers decide what’s appropriate for them, versus having Netflix censor specific artists or voices.”

Talk about a hardline stance. Some believe this change in Netflix’s company culture comes after the major backlash from woke employees last year over its “transphobic” Dave Chappelle special, “The Closer.”

The letter was most likely a warning shot regarding walkouts like the one woke employees staged against Dave Chappelle.

In response to those walkouts, its head organizer, who was a member of Netflix management, was promptly fired for his activism. As employees were advised at the time that artists like Chappelle had artistic freedom and that staff should not take any action.

Concerning the fired employee, Netflix stated:

The employee was terminated on suspicion of leaking metrics to the press related to the Dave Chappelle special. Those metrics — about how much Netflix paid for The Closer and how many people it reached — subsequently ended up in a report on Bloomberg. While the employee had shared the metrics internally, they spoke out against the leaks to colleagues, worried they might hurt the walkout movement.

The streaming giant went on to say: “The leaking of internal data is highly unusual at Netflix. While the company prides itself on transparency, employees are told that the culture can only thrive when Netflix data remains internal.”

A lot of people on social media have applauded Netflix for its latest memo. For instance, Carl Higbie, the host of “Wake Up America Weekend” tweeted:

“FINALLY!!! billion dollar companies are tired of getting pushed around by a half dozen purple-haired cry babies… Good Job Netflix “

Megan Basham, a culture reporter for The Daily Wire said, “We are starting to see signs that the Left’s stranglehold on the corporate sphere is weakening.”

Obviously, this is a huge shift in tone from Netflix. One that falls in line with other corporations who are now thinking twice about choosing sides in America’s ongoing culture war.
