‘Ever since the pandemic, all he’s wanted to talk about is being in the kitchen, so I just started filming him one day, I said, “This is what you love”,’ she explained.

Brooklyn has tested out a number of different interests as a career, including working as a photographer and model before he turned to cookery.

Speaking about his diverse career choices, Nicola revealed that her husband felt ‘a lot of pressure to please people with his career and he didn’t love it’.

Nicola admitted that Brooklyn has been getting plenty of career advice from her billionaire investment titan father Nelson Peltz.

She added: ‘I watch him call my dad and say, ‘What do you think about this?’ I love watching him learn from my dad.’

Before starting cookery, Brooklyn worked as a photographer and started an internship with Rankin in 2019 after the legendary snapper was impressed with his photo of Sir David Attenborough in Africa.

But he was said to have left his colleagues stunned over his ‘lack of basic skills’ during his internship with Rankin.

He has previously shot campaigns for Burberry, published his own photography book and took the photos in his own photoshoot for ICON Magazine in 2020.

In July 2018, Brooklyn quit his New York photography course at the world-renowned Parsons School of Design because he ‘missed’ his family in the UK.

In 2020, it was reported that Brooklyn had signed up to a modelling agency after gaining experience showcasing products from his dad’s brand DB Eyewear.

But he seems to have found his dream job after starting work as a chef and he has even appeared on the Late Late Show and The Today Show to show off his skills.

However, he has been criticised for his lack of training as he shares videos showing off his cooking, including one video which saw him rustle up a salmon poke bowl.

He took to Instagram to show how he prepares the basic meal, starting by washing some rice and putting it in a rice cooker.

He then filleted the salmon and cut it into small chunks, before mixing together several condiments to create a creamy sauce, into which he mixed the salmon.

Slicing up an avocado, he placed the cut up fruit on the rice and salmon in a bowl and sprinkled with sesame seeds and a squeeze of lemon.

Brooklyn proudly showed off his finished meal, despite having come under fire recently for his frequently-ridiculed cooking skills.

Critics have previously called attention to Brooklyn’s lack of training and expertise, while condemning the cost of his professionally edited Instagram videos.

A source has said of Brooklyn’s overblown crew and budget: ‘It’s unheard of. It’s the sort of crewing you would expect on a big TV show.’

The insider added that each episode of the eight-minute online show,  costs $100,000 to make.

In one video, he didn’t appear to know how to fry fish and was also heard asking how to establish when a hash brown is finished frying.

The August issue of Tatler is available on newsstands and via digital download on Thursday 30th June.
