LAKEWOOD – A New Jersey state trooper was struck by a motor vehicle on the Garden State Parkway, while conducting a crash investigation Wednesday night, a spokesman for the agency said.
The officer, who was not immediately identified, “was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries,” said State Police Sgt. Philip Curry.
The incident took place sometime after 6:40 p.m. when troopers were dispatched to an unrelated multi-vehicle crash in the northbound lanes of the parkway in the area of mile post 89.4, Curry said.
