‘No One is Above the Law’ – RedState

FBI agents under Director Kash Patel’s orders busted into the Bethesda home of former National Security Advisor John Bolton early Friday morning. The raid is sure to send shockwaves throughout Washington, D.C.

The case reportedly revolves around a prior investigation involving allegations that Bolton unlawfully disclosed classified information in a memoir published in June 2020.

The New York Post first reported on the raid, which was conducted at 7 a.m. Within minutes, Director Patel took to his X account to report that the FBI was engaged in a “mission.”

“NO ONE is above the law,” he wrote in a cryptic message. “@FBI agents on mission.”

DIVE DEEPER: It Sure Looks Like John Bolton Leaked Information From His Book to Try to Save It

Uh-Oh: John Bolton Is Officially Under DOJ Investigation

The probe that prompted the raid is said to involve a “high profile national security case” shut down by the Biden administration “for political reasons.”

The Department of Justice (DOJ) in 2020 launched an investigation of Bolton for possibly leaking classified information in his memoir, titled “The Room Where It Happened.”

The book made several dubious claims, including allegations that President Trump asked for help with his election from Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Subpoenas were issued at the time, and a grand jury was convened before the Biden administration stepped in to shut it down.

The Washington Post reported in 2020 that administration officials at the time had “uncovered legitimate instances of unauthorized disclosures of classified information.”

Trump posted on X that the former National Security Adviser “broke the law” and “should be in jail, money seized, for disseminating, for profit, highly Classified information.”

Bolton, at the time, issued a statement “emphatically” declaring he had not revealed classified information in the book and rejected “any claim that he acted improperly, let alone criminally.”

Patel has ordered the case reignited.

Bolton, for his part, conveyed on social media that he was seemingly unconcerned about the raid, quickly posting his thoughts on President Trump’s attempts to negotiate peace between Russia and Ukraine, never once mentioning FBI agents entering his home minutes earlier.

Bolton’s name appears on a list of “corrupt actors” from the “deep state” in an appendix at the end of Patel’s 2023 book, “Government Gangsters.”

The former NSA chief was one of 51 intelligence officers who signed a letter portraying Hunter Biden’s laptop as Russian disinformation. The Trump administration promptly ripped security clearances from those individuals back in March.

President Trump removed Bolton’s Secret Service protection on his first day back in the White House.

Patel has vowed to destroy a weaponized federal government under his tenure.

RedState will provide more information on this case as events warrant.
